The multiple GRAMMY-winning mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato is widely recognized as one of the world's great opera singers. The New Yorker has proclaimed her “perhaps the most potent female singer of her generation,” and The New York Times has described her as “the perfect 21st-century diva—an effortless combination of glamour, charisma, intelligence, grace and remarkable talent.” She is known not only for her extraordinary virtuosity, but also for her impassioned social engagement. Perhaps more than any project in her career to date, DiDonato's new album, In War and Peace: Harmony through Music, epitomizes this combination of qualities. The collection of Baroque arias arose from her pondering the question, in the wake of the 2015 terrorist attacks on Paris and Brussels, “In the midst of chaos, how do you find peace?” DiDonato hopes the album, out November 4 on Erato / Warner Classics, and concert presentation, with which she will tour 12 countries between November 2016 and June 2017, will help listeners answer the same question. Starz today announced a two-season, 20-episode greenlight of 'Blunt Talk,' a half-hour scripted comedy series from Media Rights Capital (MRC). The project, from Seth MacFarlane ('Family Guy,' Ted, A Million Ways to Die in the West) and Jonathan Ames ('Bored to Death'), was picked up straight-to-series with 20 episodes over two seasons, set to air in 2015.

Broadcast on public television in October 2010, the documentary is ever more relevant with Stewart and McKellen's recent Broadway performances in Waiting for Godot andNo Man's Land. Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen recently spent a memorable day on Coney Island taking in New York's finest sights, sounds and food. Their adventure has been captured and printed on three Coney Island t-shirts that are now being auctioned to help raise money for City Harvest.

Animus Theatre Company has announced its 2014 Season, which will feature Matthew Lillard, Leslye Headland, and Alan Langdon, with plays by Bob Glaudini, Tennessee Williams, and Headland. The MainStage Production will be Dutch Heart of Man by Glaudini, directed by Alan Langdon, running April 24th thru May 11th. The Workshop Production will feature four short plays by Tennessee Williams: Moony's Kid Don't Cry; The Long Goodbye; Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen; and The Pink Bedroom. The one-act plays, all presented nightly, will be directed by Matthew Lillard and run August 1st thru 10th. Both productions will be presented at the Cherry Lane Theatre in downtown NYC, the 2014 home of Animus Theatre Company. The season will be rounded out in the fall/winter with a multi-media festival headlined by Leslye Headland's Seven Deadly Sin Cycle Plays (Cinephillia, Bachelorette, Assistance, Surfer Girl, Reverb, and The Accidental Blonde) presented as a collection of readings for the first time in New York City. Cast and creatives for all of the above will be announced at a later date.
