Nickelodeon, CBS Announce New Animated STAR TREK Series

Nickelodeon and CBS Television Studios announced the greenlight of a new animated 'Star Trek' series to be developed by Emmy Award winners Kevin and Dan Hageman ('Trollhunters' and 'Ninjago') and overseen for Nickelodeon by Ramsey Naito, EVP, Animation Production and Development, Nickelodeon.

CBS All Access announced today that Alison Pill ('The Newsroom'), Harry Treadaway ('Penny Dreadful') and Isa Briones ('American Crime Story: Versace') were cast as series regulars alongside Sir Patrick Stewart in its upcoming untitled 'Star Trek' series that will explore the next chapter of Jean-Luc Picard. They join previously announced cast members Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd and Evan Evagora.

Shakespeare Theatre Company's Artistic Director Michael Kahn invites theatre-lovers to the second event of a series of intimate conversations about his career in D.C. as he prepares to retire. Open, unrehearsed and off the record, invited speakers will swap anecdotes and share memories about Michael Kahn's 33 years directing at the Shakespeare Theatre Company. The discussions focus on three distinct eras in STC's history and chronicle D.C.'s changing theatre scene. This second Michael Kahn and Friends: Off the Record will focus primarily on the formation of the Shakespeare Theatre Company in its second location: the Lansburgh Theatre (1992-2006).

CBS All Access' INTERROGATION Begins Production

CBS All Access today announced production has officially begun in Albuquerque, N.M., on INTERROGATION, the service's new true-crime series where the viewer becomes the detective. The series' first nine episodes will be available to binge in any order with each episode structured around an interrogation. This multi-linear approach will give viewers the opportunity to follow their instincts and develop their own interpretations of the facts of the case and ultimately decide innocence or guilt. The shocking season finale will be released at a later date.

It was announced that Michelle Paradise will join Alex Kurtzman as co-showrunner of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY's third season. CBS All Access, CBS' digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, today announced a new 10-episode order for the original limited event series THE STAND, based on Stephen King's bestselling novel of the same name. The series will be produced by CBS Television Studios. Josh Boone and Ben Cavell will write and executive produce THE STAND. Josh Boone will also direct. Roy Lee, Jimmy Miller and Richard P. Rubinstein will also serve as executive producers with Will Weiske and Miri Yoon as co-executive producers and Owen King as producer.

CBS All Access today announced a two-season order for STAR TREK: LOWER DECKS, a new half-hour animated comedy series developed by Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan (“Rick and Morty”). The series will focus on the support crew serving on one of Starfleet's least important ships and will be produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions, CBS Television Studios' new animation arm; Secret Hideout; and Roddenberry Entertainment. Secret Hideout's Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin and Roddenberry Entertainment's Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth and Katie Krentz will serve as executive producers alongside McMahan. Aaron Baiers, who brought McMahan to the project, will serve as a co-executive producer.
