Broadway legend Andrew Lloyd Webber's high-octane Broadway and West End hit School of Rock - The Musical is coming to Detroit's Fisher Theatre, April 10-22, 2018.

Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, 'one of the most promising young actors to emerge in the New York Theater in recent years' (The New York Times), has stepped into the role of Cornelius Hackl in the most successful and beloved Broadway production of the year, the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Revival, Hello, Dolly!. Fontana, filling in forGavin Creel, who won a 2017 Tony Award for the role, joined the company for a limited time beginning this past Tuesday, March 13. Creel will be out of the show during this time as he recovers from back surgery.

Among the Broadway stars scheduled to interact with students over the course of the day on March 19 are Tony Award winner Baayork Lee(choreographer, original cast of A CHORUS LINE), Sasha Hutchings, original cast of HAMILTON and currently in the Broadway revival of MY FAIR LADY, LaGuardia Arts alumnus Lilli Cooper, from the Broadway Musical, SpongeBob SquarePants, and John Cariani from The Band's Visit.

One hundred and fifty talented NYC public school students will make their Broadway debuts this month when the 4th annual SHUBERT FOUNDATION HIGH SCHOOL THEATRE FESTIVAL for NYC Public Schools takes place on Monday, March 19 at the fabled Shubert Theatre (225 W. 45 St. -- currently home to the Broadway smash HELLO, DOLLY!)  This high-energy arts and education experience for students is presented by The Shubert Foundation and NYC Department of Education.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit School of Rock - The Musical will welcome eight new cast members to the national tour on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Rocking their way across the country will be Alyssa Emily Marvin as Marcy, Grier Burke as Tomika, Vincent Molden as Zack, Huxley Westemeier as Billy and Iara Nemirovsky as Summer. Have you heard? Anastasia has found it's two newest stars! Beginning Tuesday, March 27th, Zach Adkins will assume the role of "Dmitry" and Vicki Lewis will join the company as "Countess Lily" in the hit Broadway musical ANASTASIA. Adkins is an original member of the Broadway company, currently appearing on stage at the Broadhurst Theatre in the ensemble. A perennial favorite, Lewis returns to the Broadway stage after starring in Chicago, Damn Yankees, and many more.

A couple of weeks ago when five-time Tony nominee Jan Maxwell died, I assumed the marquees of Broadway theaters would be dimmed. I emailed the Broadway League--the association of theatre owners and producers who issues press releases on such things--to ask 'when' it would happen. I don't know why I automatically assumed it would.

Producers announced today Obie Award Winner Dariush Kashani (Oslo) will join the best reviewed Broadway show of the season, THE BAND'S VISIT, as 'Tewfiq' on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

East West Players (EWP) and Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) present stage, television, and film star George Takei in the Los Angeles premiere of the Broadway musical Allegiance.

The Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDSBoard of Trustees, at its February 22, 2018, meeting, honored Paul Libin, its president for the last 24 years, with a special $100,000 grant to The Actors Fund to create the Paul Libin Center. The center will be the New York City home for Looking Ahead, a program that helps professional young performers build community and make a healthy, successful transition to adulthood.
