JUNKYARD DOG PRODUCTIONS and THE MUSICAL COMPANY will celebrate the release of the original Broadway cast recording of COME FROM AWAY with a special in-store performance and CD signing at Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th St at Lexington Avenue) on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 4.30 PM. Creators Irene Sankoff and David Hein will be joined by the COME FROM AWAY cast: Petrina Bromley, Geno Carr, Jenn Colella, Joel Hatch, Rodney Hicks, Kendra Kassebaum, Tony Award nominee Chad Kimball, Lee MacDougall, Caesar Samayoa, Q. Smith, Astrid Van Wieren and Sharon Wheatley, along with musical arranger and supervisor Ian Eisendrath. Fans who purchase the CD at the store will be offered priority seating.

Berkshire Theatre Group announces the final production of its upcoming 2017 Summer Season will be Mark Medoff's Tony, Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk Award-winning play, Children of a Lesser God, which will begin performances on Thursday, June 22 at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage. Opening night is set for Saturday, June 24 at 8pm.
Cincinnati Middle Schools Selected for Third Year of JumpStart Theatre Program

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA), a national non-profit headquartered in Cincinnati, announces the selection of schools for the third year of a middle school program called JumpStart Theatre. The schools being added in 2017-18 are: Clark Montessori High School, Roberts Academy, and Oyler School. All the schools are in Cincinnati.

Rachel Bay Jones and Jennifer Laura Thompson, who play moms in the hit Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen and are both moms to teenagers in real life, will serve as presenters in the Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival for New York City Public Schools. The third annual festival will take place Monday, March 13, 2017 at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street), home to Dear Evan Hansen, at 7 p.m. More than 100 talented students from five New York City high schools across the city will make their Broadway debuts performing from their selected winter musicals or plays.

Gary Barlow and Tim Firth's new British musical, The Girls, based on the true story, the film and the award-winning play by Tim Firth, Calendar Girls, opened in London's West End at the Phoenix Theatre. The West End premiere follows sold-out runs at the Grand Theatre Leeds and the Lowry Salford late 2015/early 2016. In the West End, the producers have made a commitment to there being no 'premium-rated' seats, no booking fees and reduced price previews.

Gary Barlow and Tim Firth triumphed tonight, Sunday 19 February 2017, ahead of the opening of their musical THE GIRLS in London's West End on Tuesday 21 February. At an awards ceremony at the Prince of Wales Theatre, they won the prestigious WhatsOnStage Award for Best Regional Production. Gary and Tim and the original Calendar Girls were given a rapturous reception from an audience made up of stars from all the West End shows after Gary, Tim and Joanna Riding performed Scarborough, a song from their musical.

In spite of intensive medical treatment, Michele Dotrice, who has never missed a performance in her entire career, has been diagnosed with acute bronchitis and therefore unable to perform for the time being. The part of Jessie in Gary Barlow and Tim Firth's new British musical, THE GIRLS, will now be played by Judith Street, who at 67 is making her West End debut in a leading role. For her, this is a dream come true.
