ACTORS’ READING COLLECTIVE (ARC) is presenting a series of 3 play readings in June and July at Marin Shakespeare Company - 514 Fourth St., San Rafael, 94901. All readings begin at 7 pm. SHOWTIME has announced that the acclaimed drama series BILLIONS will return for its seventh and final season. Starring Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Paul Giamatti, Corey Stoll and Maggie Siff, the 12-episode final season also marks the return of Emmy winner Damian Lewis as fan-favorite Bobby “Axe” Axelrod.
For this production, tables and chairs have been pushed to the perimeter, lining the parallel side walls that face each other. That leaves the middle of the room and the fore and aft walls for the performers to move about, and move they do, in constantly fluid motion, under the sure-handed and sure-footed direction of Matt Austin and Jessica Chesbro. The effect is engagingly kaleidoscopic in a way proscenium staging is not.
The cast has been revealed for The Contention (Henry VI, Part II) at Shakespeare & Company, directed by Founding Artistic Director Tina Packer and staged June 17 through July 15, opening Saturday, June 24.
