Sort of like an extra-special episode of The Golden Girls - ACCC's Mamma Mia!, not to be confused with Studio Tenn's Mamma Mia! which runs through September 8 in Franklin - is given a new lease on life, as it were, thanks to Deason's casting choices: Imagine if Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia were given a holiday special, filled with special guest stars, a bigger budget and an orchestra, choreography and an ensemble of younger actors eager to learn from their mentors and you'll have a fairly good notion of how Deason's Mamma Mia! is interpreted for the sell-out audiences filling the Woodbury theater to overflowing in order to revel in the ABBA-inspired spectacle.

GUTTED Will Tour in October 2019

Gutted, an Irish black comedy by Whitstable-based playwright Sharon Byrne, directed by Chris White, will tour to 15 UK venues between Thursday 3 and Wednesday 30 October 2019. Set in a 1980's Dublin fish-factory, Gutted explores the lives of three women, played by Eleanor Byrne, Niamh Finlay and Sarah Hosford, with dark humour and tenderness. This tour of Gutted comes after a successful run at The Marlowe, Canterbury in 2017 and the Edinburgh Festival in 2018.

Kate Davis has shared a new song and video from her upcoming full-length Trophy out November 8 on Solitaire Recordings (Common Holly, Jonathan Something). Brooklyn Vegan premiered the title track today, saying 'It's an instantly satisfying song, one that should appeal to fans of Kate's jazz roots as well as fans of indie rock.' Its video follows the hypnotic performer through a talent show of her own comedic design, as she embodies more personalities — and hairstyles — than displayed to date, and offers new insight into her charming eccentricity. Directed by Harriet Power, The Roommate stars renowned Philadelphia performers Grace Gonglewski and Jennifer Childs. This afternoon, Disney+ made its D23 Expo debut with its first-ever showcase presentation, announcing six new series in development and revealing key details about the highly anticipated streaming service to an enthusiastic audience at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim. The event showcased the sweeping array of talent with in-person and video appearances from the stars of Disney+'s slate of originals from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic and included sneak peeks, trailer premieres, and exclusive news about the service and its upcoming projects. Actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who stars in the Disney+ original film “Lady and the Tramp,” hosted the lively presentation, welcoming Kevin Mayer, chairman, Direct-to-Consumer & International, to the stage to kick off the show.
