 Los Angeles Ballet (LAB) hosted its annual Gala on May 17th by transforming the Beverly Wilshire Hotel into an enchanting Cinderella Fairytale Ball and celebrated the Company Dancers and the ballet art form.

Starring bonafide Broadway legend Patti LuPone along with new music from Frozen songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, learn about all of the Broadway connections to Agatha All Along.

Los Angeles Ballet (LAB) will celebrate its Season 17 Gala on Thursday, May 18 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. This year's honorees are philanthropists Jeff Polak and Alia Tutor. The honorees are receiving Angel Awards for the extraordinary contributions they have made to LAB and the city of Los Angeles.

This year's honorees are Johnese Spisso, President of UCLA Health, CEO UCLA Hospital System and Associate Vice Chancellor, UCLA Health Services who will receive the Global Impact Award and actress and singer Sofia Carson, who will receive the Los Angeles Ballet Ambassador Award.

Geoffrey Nauffts highly-acclaimed Next Fall is something of a theatrical success story, with the original 2009 production receiving critical praise, an extended Broadway season and a Tony-Award nomination. The play follows the five-year relationship of unlikely couple Adam - a frustrated and neurotic forty-year-old writer and atheist - and Luke, a 20-something year old devout Christian who cannot come out to his parents. Their history is revealed through flashbacks, while in the present Luke fights for life in hospital after an accident and family and friends gather to hold vigil. Perhaps a victim of the reputation that precedes it, this production is only intermittently moving and ultimately it is hard to see what all the fuss is about.

The Dance Enterprise Ideas Fund awards six outstanding dance creatives at the 2017 Dance Enterprise Ideas Summit, hosted by East London Dance.

Oakland University was well-represented at the 32nd annual World Conference of the International Society for Music Education, which was held last month at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, in Glasgow. 

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) has selected John Hurt, Stacy Keach and Dame Diana Rigg as the 2014 recipients of The William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre (Will Award), which recognizes artists who have made significant contributions to classical theatre in America. The Beech Street Foundation will be awarded the Sidney Harman Award for Philanthropy in the Arts. The awards will be presented at the Harman Center for the Arts Annual Gala on Sunday, October 5, 2014, hosted by STC at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) and the National Building Museum (440 G Street NW).
