The Washington Stage Guild Presents CANDIDA By George Bernard Shaw

The Washington Stage Guild returns to the Nobel Prize-winning George Bernard Shaw, with a new production of the first play by GBS ever presented by the Stage Guild, Candida. Subtitled a?oeA Mystery,a?? in it, a preacher and a poet are in love with the same woman. The former is her husband, the latter wants to woo her away, and both are shocked by her ultimate choice and the reasons for it. 

James Triner and Jamie Wolpert Join Stage Entertainment

Stage Entertainment has announced the appointment of James Triner as International Executive Producer and Jamie Wolpert as Head of International Development. The appointments reflect the ambition of Stage Entertainment's international creative development and production teams.

MATILDA THE MUSICAL Postpones Hong Kong Season

Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, the Hong Kong presenter of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda the Musical has announced today with much regret that the season which was planned to commence next week, from 20 September to 20 October at the Lyric Theatre, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, will now not take place.

Miriam Margolyes and Full Cast Of SYDNEY & THE OLD GIRL Confirmed

The full cast of Sydney & The Old Girl has been confirmed, as previously announced Miriam Margolyes and Mark Hadfield will be joined by Vivien Parry for Eugene O'Hare's world premiere black comedy. Directed by Phillip Breen, the production will open on 31 October, with a national press night on Tuesday 5 November at 7pm.

THE TRAGEDIE OF MACBETH Comes to Shakespeare Center LA

When a director from England's Royal Shakespeare Company and a Disney Imagineer come together, the hottest show of the Halloween season emerges. Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles(SCLA) presents The Tragedie of Macbeth a?" An Immersive Experience is a fast-paced immersive production that moves from the foggy Scottish Heath and the wind-whistling castle in Invernesss to the witches coven and the doomed Macduff's house. The audience moves through SCLA's 22,000 square-foot building encountering floating daggers, tapestries that come to life, and bleeding walls while 9 actors tackle 20 characters. African-American Shakespeare Company Stages OTHELLO

For their 2th anniversary season the African-American Shakespeare Company presents their new production of Othello this October, with Artistic Director L. Peter Callender in the title role for the first time. Directed by Carl Jordan, he will be joined by Isabel Siragusa (Desdemona) and Michael Ray Wisely (Iago).

The Royal Shakespeare Company's West End production of Matilda The Musical has today announced the new adult and child cast, including casting the 100th Matilda to go into the show, worldwide, since the original opening in London. 

JUDGMENT DAY Gets World Premiere At Park Avenue Armory

This December, Park Avenue Armory will round out its 2019 season with the world premiere of a new adaptation of ?-dön von Horváth's 1937 play Judgment Day, an ambitious work that explores morality, responsibility, and the guilt of a small-town's train stationmaster and his community. The adaptation, commissioned by the Armory and penned by Obie Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright Christopher Shinn, is staged by famed British theater director Richard Jones, who returns to the Armory to helm this gripping moral parable following his critically acclaimed, eight-time Drama Deska?"nominated production of The Hairy Ape  at the Armory in 2017. With much of the narrative centered around an ill-fated train depot, Judgment Day and its vast set will take on special resonance in the 55,000-square-foot Wade Thompson Drill Halla?"reminiscent of the great nineteenth century train sheds of Europe, with its vaulted ceiling and raw industrial design. The production runs December 5, 2019 through January 11, 2020. Casting will be announced in the coming weeks.

Single Carrot Theatre Announces Casting For MR. WOLF

Single Carrot Theatre kicks off Season 12 with Rajiv Joseph's powerful play Mr. Wolf, which opens on Friday, September 13. The cast brings together multiple new faces to Single Carrot from the Baltimore theatre community, as well as reunites a creative team from past seasons.
