After sell out seasons in the West End and through the UK, Anthony Jay and Jonathan Lynn's hit returns to the stage for one week only at Theatr Clwyd this November. Prime Minister Jim Hacker and his long-suffering Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby are back - still morally dubious and spinning the stories - all the while staring disaster and political ruin in the face.

Alex Jennings (Netflix's The Crown) and Solea Pfeiffer (Almost Famous, Hamilton) will join Renée Fleming in the limited Chicago presentation of The Light in the Piazza, for ten performances only, December 14-29, 2019, at Lyric Opera House (press opening Saturday, Dec. 14). Tickets start at $49 and are on sale now. The Chicago engagement follows the production's acclaimed run at the Royal Festival Hall in London this summer.

Hammer Theatre Center presents Actors From The London Stage performing Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

Sometimes being brave means being yourself! This fall Goodspeed Musicals' production of Billy Elliot The Musical will spark with infectious energy. This tour-de-force of dance based on the British movie of the same name, will run September 13 a?' November 24 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn. Following a highly acclaimed tour in 2018, The Original Theatre Company and The Anthology Group in association with Peter Stickney and York Theatre Royal's production of Alan Bennett's THE HABIT OF ART will return and tour the UK in 2020. Directed by Philip Franks and starring Matthew Kelly as Fitz (W. H. Auden) and David Yelland as Henry (Benjamin Britten). The tour begins on 18 March 2020 at Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne.

Casting has been announced for The Ice Cream Boys, a gripping exploration of politics and power by acclaimed playwright Gail Louw. Andrew Frances (Fences - Bath Theatre Royal, Not Going Out - BBC1) takes the role of Jacob Zuma, Jack Klaff (The Cherry Orchard - Arcola Theatre, Insignificance a?" Donmar Warehouse, For Your Eyes Only a?" Eon Productions, Star Wars a?" Lucas Films) plays Ronnie Kasrils and recent New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts graduate Bu Kunene plays Thandi Dube and other characters. The production is directed by Vik Sivalingam.  

Starting October 17, Milagro presents the World Premiere of Amor Añejo, an original new play directed by Elizabeth Huffman. Amor Añejo runs from October 17 - November 10, 2019 on the Milagro MainStage.

Chicago Shakespeare Theater welcomes the Olivier Award-winning Isango Ensemble to Chicago to present its acclaimed production of A Man of Good Hope, based on the book by Jonny Steinberg and adapted and directed by Mark Dornford-May. Vividly told through song and dance steeped in African traditions, the story follows one young Somali refugee's extraordinary odyssey across a continent and his unfailing hope in the face of adversity. BAFTA and Olivier award-winning playwright debbie tucker green's drama about relationships, power and sex tourism will tour for the first time in a new production from East Midlands theatre company New Perspectives. trade is set on a Caribbean island and tells the story of three women, each distinct from the others. As the sun beats down, the drinks are poured for tourists and men flitter in and out of the picture, their three very different stories emerge. On the surface, they have little in common: the youngest is visiting for the first time, another lives here permanently and the last woman is a regular visitor. But despite their apparent differences, it gradually becomes clear their lives are all shaped by the same thing: transactions.

Providing us with easily one of EastEnders most iconic character's as the murderous Chrissie Watts, Oberman seems to almost effortlessly switch from drama to comedy with Aunty Val in Friday Night Dinner being another of her much loved creations.  Starting her career with the RSC, Oberman has performed in a vast array of plays from Shakespeare to Pinter via Noel Coward. BroadwayWorld spoke with Oberman about her upcoming play Mother of Him which is at Park Theatre from 18 September.

As former Grinning from Fear to Fear ensemble member Andrew Knox takes his talent to the Mainstage for its 108th revue, The Second City is proud to announce that Adam Archer will be stepping onto the e.t.c.stage in his place. Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) will present the East Coast Premiere of Cambodian Rock Band by Lauren Yee, directed by Marti Lyons and featuring the songs of Dengue Fever, Sinn Sisamouth, Voy Ho, and Rose Serey Sothea, from October 16 to November 10 at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre, according to Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas and Interim Artistic Director Terry Berliner. Cambodian Rock Band is a co-production with Victory Gardens Theatre in Chicago and City Theatre in Pittsburgh.

UK-based Shakespeare's Rose Theatre announced Friday it was canceling the productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth at The Theatre at Solaire from 17 to 22 September 2019.
