Putting his own unique, youthful spin on golden age crooner styling, Mark performed a collection of classic tunes from Broadway and The Great American Songbook.

The Tony Awards are like Christmas in June for theatre lovers, and that makes this year's nominees the reason for the season. This year's Tony nominees transported us with the magic of theatre, and we're saluting their work by taking a closer look at their extraordinary accomplishments. I don't wanna be a snitch but I can tell you A BRONX TALE is based on the one-man show that inspired the now classic film, this streetwise musical takes audiences to the stoops of the Bronx in the 1960s-where a young man is caught between the father he loves and the mob boss he'd love to be. Featuring an original doo-wop score, this is a tale about respect, loyalty, love, and above all else: family. I have great news for you, mafiosos. Bronx Tale will play the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on June 11 through 23, 2019 and you don't need to wack anyone to see it!

The first national touring production of Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations will officially launch at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, in July 2020, before the tour goes on to play more than 50 cities coast-to-coast for more than 100 touring weeks, including a homecoming to The Temptations' roots in Detroit, and a triumphant return to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

Last week I went to the Drama Desk Award Nominations Reception at Green Room 42, here in NYC.  This is one of the last few events where you get to meet some of the newest folks doing theater OFF Broadway and On Broadway.  You also get a chance to chat to some of the actors who are nominated for this year's Tony Awards, as well.

A new block of tickets for the hit new Broadway musical Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations are now on sale through May 17, 2020

The North Charleston Performing Arts Center's Best of Broadway series will host its annual  "Select Your Seat" open house party on Monday, June 3 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Broadway fans are invited to come out and "select their seats" for the 2019-2020 season. The party features Broadway music, complimentary hors d'oeuvres, a wine tasting and backstage tours. Season ticket packages start at just $218.

The 2019 Chita Rivera Awards were presented last night, May 19, 2019 at 7:30pm at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. BroadwayWorld was there and you can check out the photos below!

Nominations for the 2019 Chita Rivera Awards were announced today. In keeping with the mission of the Chita Rivera Awards, nominators considered shows and films that opened during the 2018-2019 theater season.

I had the pleasure of seeing A Bronx Tale with my friend Cassy, who had NEVER seen a musical before! (I know, right?!) I invited Cassy because the 1993 movie, off which the musical is based, is her favorite. Seriously, her cat is named Calogero, after the lead character in both the movie and the play. I was excited to see this show, and especially excited to see it through the eyes of a neophyte theater goer. I was not disappointed!

The 85th Annual Drama League Awards were handed out last night, May 17, at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway).
