THE DJANGO, downtown Manhattan’s premier jazz club, is celebrating the next generation of jazz with a special concert series this month. During the month of May, The Django welcomes rising stars as part of its new Next Gen Series.

???????Fathom Five Productions is presenting a staging of a new orginal play entitled Avalon at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe beginning August 5th and starring Sean Cronin as King Arthur and Michele Martin as actress Natalie Wood. The play imagines that Wood, who drowned near Catalina Island in 1981, finds herself on the doorstep of Arthur who stories tell us was taken to the island after a battle to recover from his wounds and await a return to the throne.

The New York Hot Jazz Camp returns for its second year May 15th-21st, 2017 (18+). Building on last year's success they have an announced an addition of a youth camp April 10th-14th, 2017 (13-17 yrs) during NYC public schools' spring break.

Theatre 20 presents CHELSEA HOTEL: THE SONGS OF LEONARD COHEN, a Firehall Arts Centre production, directed and conceived by Tracey Power, with musical direction and arrangements by Steven Charles. Three hot NYC jazz bands will play in Louis's Garden this summer: Bria's Hot Five with Bria Skonberg today, July 4th - Louis Armstrong's birthday, Jon-Erik Kellso and the EarRegulars on July 20th and Peter & Will Anderson Sextet on August 17th. Each concert is at 2:00 pm. Concerts include complimentary red beans n' rice (Louis's favorite recipe) & sweet tea. And, since Louis always celebrated his birthday on July 4th birthday cake will be served during the Fourth of July event to celebrate!

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, welcomes award-winning trumpeter/vocalist/composer, Bria Skonberg, for its new 'Second Act, A Late Night Series of Fun and Entertainment' at the Cafe Carlyle on April 11-12, 25-26, and May 23-24. Ms. Skonberg's show, Brass and Belles, is a tribute to the historic horn and female vocal pairings of greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, Anita O'Day and Roy Eldridge, and more.
