Cromer To Return To OUR TOWN At Barrow Street Theatre 6/19

Obie and Lucille Lortel Award winner David Cromer returns to the central role of ?Stage Manager' in his critically-acclaimed staging of Thornton Wilder's timeless play Our Town on Friday 6/19 (to honor a prior commitment, Mr. Comer departed the company May 1st for a 5-week hiatus). Scott Parkinson, who assumed the role during his absence, gives his final performance June 18th. Mr. Cromer will continue in the role through August 16th and will make his Broadway directorial debut when rehearsals begin for the Broadway revival productions of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound, shortly thereafter.

A. Tappan Wilder, nephew of famed playwright Thornton Wilder and literary executor, and cast members of the critically acclaimed (Lucille Lortel Award-winning) production of' Thornton Wilder's Our Town will read selected letters written by Wilder and answer audience questions following tomorrow evening's (Tuesday) 7:30 p.m. performance at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street).

Mr. Comer departs the company for a 5-week hiatus to honor a prior commitment with plans to return in mid-June.

Tickets for The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's upcoming production of A Christmas Carol are now on sale. The production will be the American East Coast premiere of this adaptation by British playwright Neil Bartlett based on the novel by Charles Dickens. This will be only the third time this version has been produced in the United States and the first production of it east of the Mississippi. Shakespeare Theatre's Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte will direct. November 27-December 31.
