The Paper Mill Playhouse's production of The Diary of Anne Frank, starring Tony Award-winner Michael Rupert and Tony Award-nominee Isabel Keating, will begin previews at the Milburn, NJ theatre on January 18th and open on January 22nd for a run through February 26th.

The Diary of Anne Frank--which has been adapted by Wendy Kesselman from the original play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett--will feature Keating (The Boy From Oz, Enchanted April) as Edith Frank and Rupert (Falsettos, Sweet Charity) as Mr. Dussel. The show will also feature Dana Powers Acheson as Margot Frank, Peter Kybart as Otto Frank, Nancy Robinette as Mrs. Van Daan, Christa Scott-Reed as Miep Gies, Michael Stahl-David as Peter Van Daan, Jeff Talbott as Mr. Kraler, David Wohl as Mr. Van Daan and Shana Dowdeswell as the intelligent, open-hearted Anne. Steve Brady, Peter Bretz, Donna Davis and Seamus Mulcahy are also in the show, which is directed by Carolyn Canter.

The Diary of Anne Frank follows two years of Anne Frank's life from 1942 to 1944, when she and her family were forced into hiding during the Nazi occupation of Amsterdam," according to press notes on the play. "For over half a century, she has captured the world's heart. In a secret annex during the Holocaust, a curious girl shared her wit and honesty with her diary, which ultimately became her legacy. This transcendently powerful new adaptation of the Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning play incorporates previously unreleased passages from the diary, revealing a stronger picture of Anne's frailties and nobility. Her testament to the power of the human spirit is a story that must be heard and a play that must be seen."

The production boasts sets by David Korins, costumes by Ilona Somogyi, lighting by Kevin Adams, sound by Randy Hansen and hair and wig design by Charles LaPointe.

Tickets range from $19-$68, and can be purchased by calling (973) 376-4343 or by visiting www.papermill.org.
