Eisemann Center Reschedules Last Keyboard Conversations Concert To June 15, 2020

Keyboard Conversations, featuring concert pianist Jeffrey Siegel, concludes the 2019-2020 Season sponsored by Dr. John F. Dixon with Fasciatin' Rhythms! in the Bank of America Theatre at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 7:30 pm (rescheduled from the original April 20 date).

Stanford Live Premieres SCOTT JOPLIN'S TREEMONISHA

This spring, Stanford Live presents the world premiere of Scott Joplin's Treemonisha, a 21st-century reimagining of the sole surviving opera by the a?oeKing of Ragtimea?? (April 23a?"26). Produced by Canada's Volcano Theatre, in association with Moveable Beast, and led by a predominantly Black, female creative team, the new work combines original source material from Treemonisha (c. 1911), Joplin's visionary tale of community and female leadership, with a new story and libretto by playwright and broadcaster Leah-Simone Bowen, working with co-librettist Cheryl L. Davis, and expanded musical arrangements and new orchestrations by composers Jessie Montgomery and Jannina Norpoth. In the title role, soprano Neema Bickersteth a?" a?oean incredible performera?? (The Guardian) whose a?oegalvanic voice outshines anything else onstagea?? (Vancouver Observer) a?" heads an all-Black cast, with an all-Black majority-female, nine-piece orchestra performing on Western and African instruments, under the award-winning stage direction of Weyni Mengesha, and conducted by Jeri Lynne Johnson.

GRAMMY Hall Of Fame Welcomes Recordings By Neil Diamond, Elton John, Joni Mitchell, The Police, & More As 2020 Inductions

The Recording Academy® welcomes the newest inductions to its distinguished GRAMMY Hall Of Fame®, continuing its ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating timeless recordings. This year's additions recognize a diverse range of both single and album recordings at least 25 years old that exhibit qualitative or historical significance. Recordings are reviewed each year by a special member committee comprised of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts, with final approval by the Recording Academy's National Board of Trustees. With 26 new titles, the Hall, now in its 47th year, currently totals 1,114 recordings. The 2020 GRAMMY Hall Of Fame inductions are available to stream via a playlist here.

Flutist Peter-Lukas Graf Brings 'From Mozart To Joplin' to Technopolis 20

Technopolis 20 presents a concert with the world-renowned flutist Peter-Lukas Graf on Saturday, 18th of January, 2020 at 6pm, for one only performance in Cyprus. MasterVoices to Perform New York Premiere of Jeremy Schonfeld's Rock-Opera IRON & COAL

MasterVoices, led by Artistic Director Ted Sperling, continues its 2019-20 season on January 10 and 11 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College of Criminal Justice with the New York premiere of Iron & Coal, Jeremy Schonfeld's multimedia rock-opera about his family's experience in the Holocaust and its aftermath. Along with MasterVoices, joining Schonfeld onstage will be distinguished theater artist Rinde Eckert, tenor Daniel Rowan, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and the New York-based contemporary music ensemble, Contemporaneous.

TINTYPES: A Musical Celebration Of America Comes To The Grange Theatre

BWW Review: TINTYPES Plays a Patriotic Tune at Porthouse Theatre/Kent State University

It is reasonable, with the Cleveland Orchestra playing its annual 'Salute to America' at Blossom, just yards away, and POTUS going through what appears to be his childhood dream of having tanks, planes and fireworks light up the nation's capital for its birthday, that Porthouse Theatre get into the mood by staging 'Tintypes,' a musical revue with almost fifty patriot songs.
