Fiona Apple Writes Theme Song for New Showtime Drama THE AFFAIR

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Fiona Apple has contributed the brand new original song "Container" for the main title sequence of the highly-anticipated new SHOWTIME series THE AFFAIR.'Container' was written and performed by Apple and produced by frequent collaborator Blake Mills. After being approached by THE AFFAIR creator and executive producer, Sarah Treem, Apple constructed a hauntingly beautiful treatment for her previously unreleased song, largely inspired by the show's restrained yet complex narrative. THE AFFAIR debuts onSunday, October 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME. Check out a sneak peek at the main title sequence below!

VIDEO: Showtime Debuts New Teaser, Key Art for THE AFFAIR

Today, SHOWTIME debuted the poster for its provocative new drama series THE AFFAIR, which premieres on Sunday, October 12th at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The highly-anticipated series stars Golden Globe® nominees Dominic West (The Wire) and Ruth Wilson (Luther), as well as Emmy® nominee Maura Tierney (ER) and SAG Award® nominee Joshua Jackson (Fringe). Currently in production on ten episodes in and around Long Island, New York, THE AFFAIR is the exploration of two marriages and the emotional and psychological effects of the affair that disrupts them. Showtime Sets Two-Hour HOMELAND Season Premiere

The highly anticipated season 4 of SHOWTIME's Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R)-winning hit drama series HOMELAND will premiere the first two episodes airing back to back on October 5 beginning at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Additionally, SHOWTIME has moved up the premiere of the highly anticipated new drama series THE AFFAIR, which will now debut on Sunday, October 12th at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of When We Were Young and Unafraid, the new play by Sarah Treem ('House of Cards,' 'In Treatment'), directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Clybourne Park), ends its run today, Sunday, August 10. The show has played 29 preview performances and 64 regular performances.
