Florida Studio Theatre announces its 38th annual Richard and Betty Burdick New Play Festival, presenting three staged readings of new works by contemporary American playwrights.

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the not-for-profit foundation affiliated with Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, presented the third annual SDCF Awards including the Gordon Davidson Award, Zelda Fichandler Award, Joe A. Callaway Awards, and Breakout Award. The event took place on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

Florida Studio Theatre announces that, in association with the National New Play Network (NNPN), it will produce and host the NNPN Women in Playwriting Festival this spring. Part of FST's Sarasota Festival of New Plays, this three-week Festival will take place throughout April and May, with staged readings of the featured plays in FST's Keating Theatre on April 26, May 3, and May 10, and in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre on April 24.

The WAM Theatre 2018 Fresh Takes Play Reading Series continues with Honor Killing by Sarah Bierstock at 3:30pm on Sunday, June 10, at No. Six Depot Roastery and Cafe in West Stockbridge. Former Fresh Takes curator Molly Merrihew will direct this hard-hitting political play that recently completed its premiere production at Florida Studio Theatre.

On Thursday, May 3, at 7:30pm, WAM will present a reading of The Virgin Trial by Kate Hennig, directed by Kelly Galvin, at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre at Shakespeare & Company.

WAM Theatre's Artistic Director Kristen van Ginhoven today announces plans for the company's 2018 season. The Berkshire-based professional theatre company celebrates its ninth year with a main stage co-production with Dorset Theatre Festival (Dorset, VT) starring Jayne Atkinson, a thought-provoking series of play readings, a premiere presentation of comedienne Alison Larkin's one-woman show, and various other special events, including hosting BerkChique for the first time and continuing with the Girls Ensemble education program.

Cherry Lane Theatre's Studio, located at 38 Commerce Street, will serve as the exclusive venue for all readings.
