HAMILTON creator and original star Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter today to express his gratitude following the news that President Obama had commuted the sentence of Puerto Rican nationalist Oscar Lopez Rivera. For awhile now, we have been receiving press materials and hearing about The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), but never witnessed the group first-hand. Well, that all changed this past Saturday night, in Philadelphia, when we decided to go to the Kimmel Center and see the 2011 Summer-Intensive weekend showcase, this year titled TRUE COLORS. I can honestly say that our jaws dropped. Directed and hosted by the newest addition to their impressive faculty line-up, Richard Jay-Alexander, the evening was like watching a skillfull PLAYLIST of Broadway 'gold' and 'showstoppers.' Two ACTS worth!
This August, from the 18th through the 21st, the Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) hosted its Summer Performing Arts Intensive in Philadelphia! During the intensive, attendees received first-rate training in acting, dance and vocal performance daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by savvy Broadway veterans who shared their invaluable insider knowledge on the skills needed to make it in show business.

Hot Feet, the new dance musical created by the Tony-nominated Maurice Hines and Earth, Wind & Fire's very own, seven-time Grammy Award winner, Maurice White opened on April 28 and BroadwayWorld was there!
Broadway previews for Hot Feet, the musical retelling of The Red Shoes set to the music of Earth, Wind & Fire, have been postponed by two days; the show will begin performances at the Hilton Theatre on April 20th rather than the previously-announced April 18th, with the opening still set for April 30th
