Bay Street Theater to Present THE TEEMING AUTUMN Outdoor Benefit

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced The Teeming Autumn, an outdoor performance and benefit dinner showcasing some of the most famous and beloved scenes, sonnets, and soliloquies of William Shakespeare, on Saturday, October 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. on the grounds of Christ Episcopal Church in Sag Harbor.

Renowned Authors Join 40th Anniversary Of Houston Reading Series

Inprint, Houston's major literary arts nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring readers and writers, presents the 2020/2021 40th anniversary season of the Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series, featuring eight evenings with ten world-renowned authors including: Julia Alvarez, Jericho Brown, Nick Hornby, Viet Thanh Nguyen, Marilynne Robinson, special guest Margaret Atwood, and others—via the Inprint “virtual studio,” from September 2020 through April 2021.

Fall Schedule Of Classes and Workshops Announced at Bay Street Theater

Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts has announced its fall schedule of classes and workshops are now open for registration. Classes will be held online via Zoom or in-person in outdoor and social-distanced settings, and vary from on-camera acting workshops, to musical theater reading clubs, to performances of Shakespeare. 2021 National YoungArts Foundation Application Now Open

The nation's leading arts competition for young artists is now accepting applications through October 16, 2020. Accomplished artists ages 15-18 years old (or in grades 10 - 12) are encouraged to apply online at youngarts.org/apply.

Salman Rushdie Will Embark On UK and Ireland Tour

Salman Rushdie will tour the UK and Ireland, celebrating both the paperback release of Rushdie's Booker Prize nominated Quichotte, and the life and work of the internationally acclaimed novelist and essayist. The tour will take in an initial three dates at the National Concert Hall, Dublin on 18th May, Manchester HOME on 19th May and at Alexandra Palace, London on 23rd May. Tickets for the shows in Manchester and London go on sale on Monday 17th February at 12pm and for Dublin on Wednesday 19th February from www.fane.co.uk.

Ulises Otero Named 2020 National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) Finalist in Theatre

ULISES OTERO of MIAMI, FL from NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS and UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA, has been named a 2020 National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) Finalist in Theatre, the organization's highest honor. Otero has been recognized for his artistic achievement and joins 686 of the nation's most accomplished artists in the visual, literary, and performing arts.

Catarina de Luca Figueiredo of Miami, Florida from New World School of the Arts has been named a 2020 National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) Finalist in Theater, the organization's highest honor. De Luca Figueiredo has been recognized for her artistic achievement and was selected by an esteemed discipline-specific panel of artists through a rigorous blind adjudication process. YoungArts award winners gain access to one of the most prestigious programs for emerging artists in the United States in which they will have opportunities for creative and professional development throughout their entire careers. The Center for Fiction and Theatre Communications Group Present Playwrights Craft Talk: Annie Baker & Branden Jacobs-Jenkins

The Center for Fiction, a 200-year-old literary nonprofit that's created an immersive home for readers and writers in downtown Brooklyn, and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, will co-present Craft Talk: Annie Baker & Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. Annie Baker and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, who are close friends and accomplished playwrights. will dive into a conversation about realism and the fourth wall.

The MGM film is celebrating its 80th Anniversary as one of America's most beloved films (it opened on August 25, 1939). Chicago Humanities Festival Announces 30th Anniversary Fall Festival Line-up

Building on the momentum of a powerful series of fall kick-off events, the Chicago Humanities Festival is excited to announce the full lineup for its 30th Fall Festival. The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents Close to Home: The Moth in Santa Monica on Friday, October 4 at 7:30pm. The evening, hosted by Jon Goode, will feature stories from Bushra Al-Fusail, Ruby Cooper, Samuel James, Omar Qureshi and Carol Spencer. From one night on a Georgia porch, The Moth grew into a global phenomenon with 52 million podcast downloads and almost 600 live events annually over six continents.
