Good Theater will present the world premiere of Homer Bound by Maine playwright Karmo Sanders, opening November 7 and playing through December 2. Set on a small fishing island off the Maine coast, Homer Bound deals with a shotgun wedding. Who will arrive first - the minister or the baby?

Good Theater is celebrating its 17th season with the company's biggest season ever.  The professional company in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, 76 Congress Street, Portland, begins with the Tony Award winning The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, based on the best-selling novel of the same name, by Mark Haddon and adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens.   The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time makes its Portland premiere on October 3, running four weeks through October 28. 

It's Baaaaack! Portland Stage announces the return of an original Studio Series Production Haunting Hour 2.0 curated by Dustin Tucker and featuring Maine authors: Joe Hill, Monica Wood, Callie Kimball, H.W. Longfellow, Ian Carlsen, and Rick Hautala.

Theater at Monmouth's 2018 Summer Repertory Season continues with Frederick Knott's classic Dial "M" for Murder. The run starts on Thursday, July 26th, at 7:30 p.m. and continues throughout the season including matinee and evening performances on both weekdays and weekends. This gripping noir thriller, famously brought to the big screen by Alfred Hitchcock, transforms the 'whodunnit' into the 'will they get away with it?' Is it possible to commit the perfect crime, or does justice always prevail?

Portland Stage will celebrate 29 years of nurturing playwrights and new work from May 8-12, 2018 during the Little Festival of the Unexpected. Little Festival is a week-long event dedicated to public readings of new American plays. Each May three playwrights are in residence at Portland Stage throughout the week developing their scripts with input from actors, dramaturgs, and directors.

This summer, Theater at Monmouth celebrates wily, wicked, and wonderful women through classic literature's most fantastic females. From fierce matriarchs, unfaithful wives, and every Madonna in-between, Roar! The Year of the Woman spotlights the ladies who move mountains for their families, friends, and most importantly, themselves. Taking on tyrants, freeloaders, and faithless frauds these femme fatales fight for what they believe in, charting a course to a better world for their sisters and daughters.

Dramatic Repertory Company (Keith Powell Beyland, Artistic Director) proudly announces its 2017 / 2018 Production Season. The season will launch with the New England Premiere of YEAR OF THE ROOSTER by Olivia Dufault directed by Sally Wood, March 9 - 18, 2018. This will be followed by the First Look Production of FALSE FLAG by Walt McGough directed by Cait Robinson, June 1 - 10, 2018.

In his directorial debut at Portland Stage, acclaimed actor Dustin Tucker has created an intriguing theatrical evening featuring a potpourri of horror tales by Maine authors, told with a mercurial blend of wit and terror. The brilliantly theatrical eighty-minute piece, which is based on six stories and short plays by John Cariani, Tess Gerritsen, Ike Hamill, Chris F. Holm, Callie Kimball and Stephen King, employs a wide variety of staging devices, and runs the gamut in tone and mood all combining for a sophisticated and satisfying experience.

???????Portland Stage Affiliate Artists present a 'Studio Series Workshop Staged Reading' of John Cariani's cul-de-sac, Monday, July 31st at 7:30 pm, followed by an open discussion between the playwright, director and audience, Portland Stage Studio Theater, 25A Forest Avenue in Portland. Tickets are a $10 in advance, or $15 at the door.

Through classic Shakespearean thrillers, contemporary romances, and fantastical flights of fantasy, the plays of the Power, Passion & Privilege Season explore liberty, justice, and equality.

Portland Stage mounts the annual Little Festival of the Unexpected with new play workshops from May 10 through May 13, 2017. Little Festival is a week-long event dedicated to public readings of new American plays. Three playwrights are in residence at Portland Stage throughout the week developing their scripts with input from actors, directors, dramaturgs, and audience members.

Portland Stage's latest production is an engaging staging of Brenda Withers' new play, String Around My Finger, which had won the 2015 Clauder Competition and then been developed through the theatre's Little Festival of the Unexpected. The four-character play, set entirely in a hospital where a young couple finds themselves coping with the miscarriage of their child, resonates with a genuineness of dialogue, character and situation.

The Olivier Awards with Mastercard has announced the first details of its inaugural Red Carpet Live Show. For the first time in the awards' history, the red carpet will be seen live across the world.

Stern Opera Center.Explorations features eclectic programs in intimate spaces, with programming that crosses musical borders and experiments with a wide range of lyrical expression.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City continues its 59th season with the Lyric Opera debut co-production of Mozart's masterpiece The Marriage of Figaro November 5, 9, 11 and 13 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
