Ballet Hispanico will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, 2017 with free events, performances, exhibitions and dance lessons for children and adults. Events include a Salsa Extravaganza, an 'A la Calle' Block Party, an Instituto Coreografico dance showing and discussion, an intimate Tablao flamenco performance, and an exhibition of visual artwork at the Ballet Hispanico's headquarters, The Arnhold Center, at 167 W. 89th Street.

Miller and music direction by Porchlight Artistic Associate Linda Madonia at Porchlght's new home, the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street. Previews are Friday, Oct. 6 and Oct. 13 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 7 and Oct. 14 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Opening night is Sunday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. The regular run performance schedule is Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. (October 22, October 29 and November 5) and at 2 p.m. (November 12 and 19) with an open captioned performance, Saturday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. and a weekday matinee Thursday, Nov. 16 at 1:30 p.m. Please note: there is no 7:30 p.m. performance Thursday, Nov. 16. The Ruth Page Center for the Arts and Ruth Page School of Dance proudly announce tuition-free mentored training for aspiring young male dancers this fall with the beginning of the 2017-2018 season. Providing the highest level of training and expertise, the Ruth Page School of Dance is one of the country's finest dance education centers.  The program, The Victor Alexander Young Men's Scholarship Program, offers boys ages 7 - 17 years old, waved tuition and includes nine months and up to 16 hours a week of professional training. The 26th annual Dance for Life Chicago will exemplify Chicago's versatile and virtuoso dance community with the eight companies that are performing August 19 at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University. Chicago Dancers United (CDU), which mobilizes Chicago's dance community by raising funds through dance, presents this annual benefit performance, which is preceded by a gala reception at the Hilton Chicago.

The Ruth Page Center for the Arts proudly announces Chicago Y Cuba: 2017 - The International Dance Experience, a culminating product of the landmark exchange program between The Ruth Page School of Dance (RPSD) and Cuba's National School of Ballet (NSB), the country's premier ballet school, largest of its kind in the world and the very same school that RPSD Director Victor Alexander received his training. The one night only performance takes place Friday, July 7 at 7 p.m. at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn, and all ticket purchases benefit the October 2017 student cultural exchange program.
