By:

ShawChicago presents its 2017/18 season, Dysfunctional Family Fun: 1776-1926. The season will include George Bernard Shaw's The Devil's Disciple, Margaret Raether's Jeeves In Bloom, based on the works of P.G. Wodehouse, and Noel Coward's Hay Fever. All performances will be at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60610.

Dick Dugeon, disgruntled with the British Empire, is about to join the American Revolution. In a bold move, Dick takes the place of a local minister, who has been exposed as a member the resistance. When he is arrested and sentenced to be hung for treason, the minister and his wife have to save him. But can they work together to resolve their extramarital affairs, save their marriage and Dick in time? George Bernard Shaw's The Devil's Disciple runs October 14 through November 6.

In Jeeves In Bloom (Feb. 3 - Feb. 26) Bertie Wooster is once again on a desperate mission: to, at all costs, avoid marriage. Upon invitation to the countryside, Bertie and his faithful manservant Jeeves find themselves caught in a web of plans. Bertie's schoolmate, Gussie, has his heart set for the lovely Madeline Basset. Meanwhile, Bertie's Aunt Dahlia, is planning the diamond heist of the century. But everything goes wrong. Madeline falls in love with Bertie, Gussie hates Bertie, and Aunt Dahlia invokes Bertie's help in her master crime. Only Jeeves can save his master from total disaster.

In the Bliss house, turmoil is about to strike. Judith Bliss, a retired actress, is dying for the spotlight. David Bliss, her husband, is about to complete his latest novel. Unknowingly to anyone else, they and their children, Sorel and Simon, have each invited a guest to dinner. With all four plans ruined, these divas are about to tussle. Hay Fever (Apr. 14 - May 7) is one of Noël Coward's most iconic works.
