The Jazz Foundation of America will continue its fundraising efforts on behalf of musicians affected by the pandemic, with “BIRD CALLS,” on Thursday, December 10th, a livestream concert celebrating the centennial of saxophonist, composer, and legendary musical innovator Charlie “Yardbird” Parker.
The Jazz Foundation of America, the 31-year-old New York-based non-profit serving the jazz community, will continue its fundraising efforts on behalf of musicians affected by the pandemic with “Bird Calls,” a glittering December 10 livestream celebrating the centennial birthday of alto saxophonist Charlie “Yardbird” Parker.
Streaming Live at the Village Vanguard continues its series on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 at 9 p.m. EDT with the Eric Reed Quartet featuring saxophonist Stacy Dillard, bassist Dezron Douglas and drummer McClenty Hunter.

Jack Kleinsinger's Highlights In Jazz closes its 46thseason with a tribute to lauded jazz guitarist Russell Malone. A mainstay on the Manhattan music scene since the 1980s, as well as a regular at international festivals and concert halls, Russell has attracted critical and fan recognition for his work as an accomplished leader and in-demand sideman.
Jazz clarinetist Ken Peplowski will pay tribute to jazz legend Benny Goodman at the Bickford Theatre on Thursday, May 3. He and his Sextet, featuring Chuck Redd on vibes, Rossano Sportiello on piano, Sean Smith on bass, Matt Witek on drums, and Hilary Gardner on vocals, remember the great clarinetist in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the famous Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert of 1938.
