In March 2020, theatres, community centres and arts venues across the UK went dark, disconnecting audiences and theatre artists. In response, ETT and Headlong came together to imagine a project that would celebrate the extraordinary diversity of the national touring network: an ‘open source’ idea for performances and storytelling that could happen around a campfire, to inspire theatre companies across the UK.

Soho Theatre Presents Jasmine Lee-Jones's CURIOUS

curious is Lee-Jones' second play following her critically-acclaimed seven methods of killing kylie jenner (Royal Court), for which she won the Evening Standard Award 2019 and Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Most Promising Playwright. Set against the sprawling backdrop of urban London across centuries, curious is a frank, funny and moving excavation of the lives of two actresses who are young, Black, queer and trying to find out who they are.

Casting Announced For The World Premiere Of RUN SISTER RUN

Casting has today been announced for a new play by award-winning playwright Chloë Moss. RUN SISTER RUN, a co-production between Paines Plough, Sheffield Theatres and Soho Theatre, explores the lives of two sisters and the different directions life takes them in as they desperately hold onto their unbreakable bond.

BWW Review: [BLANK], Donmar Warehouse

Alice Birch's [BLANK] comprises 100 scenes, any number of which can be selected and performed in any order a?" it's all in the hands of the creative team. For Maria Aberg's production at the Donmar Warehouse, an all-female company has been cast and 22 of the scenes have been pulled together. The common thread between all of the scenes is the experience of women in the criminal justice system, whether they work for it, are in prison themselves, or are victims of crime.

Nominees Announced For h100 Awards

h Club (Formerly The Hospital Club) have announced the nominees for this year's h100 Awards. The awards, now in their eleventh year, recognise and celebrate the UK's creative talent across ten different categories: Advertising, Marketing & PR; Architecture & Design, Arts & Crafts; Fashion; Film; Games; Music; Publishing & Writing; Television Broadcast; Theatre & Performance.

BWW Review: OUR TOWN, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre

The first production for Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's summer 2019 season is a revival of Thornton Wilder's 1938 play, Our Town. It's a show that is constantly being revived, particularly popular in the United States where the play is set. It was last on the London stage at the Almeida in 2014 in a production directed by David Cromer.

Francesca Henry to Star in OUR TOWN, Plus Full Creative

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre have today confirmed the full Creative Team behind Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Our Town. Launching their 2019 season on 16 May, designer Rosie Elnile joins the already announced director, Ellen McDougall. Also confirmed are Sasha Milavic Davies (Movement Director), Orlando Gough (Composer), Lizzie Powell (Lighting Designer), Tom Gibbons (Sound Designer) and David Ridley (Musical Director). Casting is by Jacob Sparrow and Barbara Houseman is Season Associate Director (Voice and Text).

BWW Review: THE AMERICAN CLOCK, Old Vic

This new production of Arthur Miller's rarely-produced play, on now at the Old Vic, offers some emotional and aesthetic rewards, but misses more often than it hits.

Clarke Peters Joins THE AMERICAN CLOCK

The Old Vic today announces that Clarke Peters (The Wire, Five Guys Named Moe) will be joining the cast of Arthur Miller's The American Clock, directed by Rachel Chavkin, to play Robertson / Moe 3 / Taylor in the production until 2 March. He replaces Giles Terera who has had to withdraw from the production due to personal reasons. Sule Rimi (Sweat, Barber Shop Chronicles) takes over the roles from 4 to 30 March.

Recipients Of The Third Year Of MGCfutures Bursaries Announced

Michael Grandage today announces the recipients of the third annual MGCfutures Bursaries awarded across a range of theatrical disciplines including directing, writing, producing, designing, composing, choreography and performance makers. Offering both financial and ongoing mentoring support from the MGCfutures team, the recipients come from across the UK.
