Additional Casting Announced For Lifetime's AMERICAN PRINCESS

AT THIS PERFORMANCE… featuring Standbys and Understudies from AVENUE Q, BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL, CAROUSEL, ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE and SUMMER: THE DONNA SUMMER MUSICAL returns to THE GREEN ROOM 42, Monday, June 11th.

Stephen DeAngelis continues his ongoing salute to Broadway and Off-Broadway Standbys, Understudies and Alternates with its next edition of  AT THIS PERFORMANCE… to be held on Monday, May 21st  at the series' new home, The Green Room 42, Green Fig, Fourth Floor, Yotel NYC, 570 Tenth Avenue (at 42nd Street), New York, NY 10036 at 7 PM.

HAMILTON is inarguably fantastic. It is extraordinary in its ability to cross every boundary and connect with audiences from every background. It is a masterpiece, a true work of art. It is visually stunning, musically astounding and, from top to bottom, the very definition of theatrical greatness.

Lifetime's new straight-to-series scripted show American Princess from Jenji Kohan, Jamie Denbo, and Tara Herrmann, has found its leading wench-in-waiting! Georgia Flood (Anzac Girls, Wentworth Prison) joins the Lifetime series about a socialite who runs off to join a Renaissance Faire after her wedding goes awry. Lucas Neff (Raising Hope, Fear Inc., Downward Dog), Seana Kofoed (Men in Trees, Flaked), Rory O'Malley (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Hamilton) and Mary Hollis Inboden (The Real O'Neals, Here And Now) round out the series cast. Produced by A+E Studios in association with Global Road Entertainment, ten one-hour episodes have been greenlit for production this summer in Los Angeles.

Producer Jeffrey Seller is proud to announce that AUSTIN SCOTT and NICHOLAS CHRISTOPHER will join the First National Tour of HAMILTON as Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, respectively. Mr. Scott's credits include the Off-Broadway cast of One Day. Mr. Christopher is currently playing John in the Broadway revival of Miss Saigon and played George Washington in HAMILTON on Broadway.

SPARKLE & CIRCULATE with JUSTIN SAYRE the official monthly podcast of the International Order of Sodomites has posted its new episode, which features an interview with the chanteuse and songwriter Lady Rizo. The Grammy Award winner discusses her sophomore album 'Indigo recorded at the legendary Royal Studios in Memphis and her annual concert tribute to the legendary Nina Simone. Rizo comes to the IOS studio to talk about growing up in a theatrical hippy family in Oregon and how motherhood has affected her as a performer.

Lin-Manuel Miranda joined the West End cast of Hamilton for a special digital #Ham4Ham video in honor of tonight's opening. Lin and the cast mashed up their favorite songs by UK artists with some of the songs from Hamilton and the result was epic. Check out the video here!

BroadwayWorld announced yesterday that Michael Luwoye will be taking over the title role in Hamilton on Broadway beginning January 2018. Luwoye began his Hamilton journey as an alternate in the Broadway production on July 11, 2016, before going on to become the principal Hamilton on the Angelica tour, beginning March 10, 2017. One of the minds behind Kiki & Herb and Our Hit Parade, Mellman discusses his band The Julie Ruin with punk icon Kathleen Hanna, how he and Justin Vivian Bond met and developed characters for their famous duo, and his upcoming solo record. Also, Justin shares personal stories of how Kenny's various projects influenced his own life and work. Performers scheduled for November 27th are Zach Adkins (Anastasia), Kennedy Caughell (Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812), Erin Clemons (Hamilton), Kayla Davion (Waitress), Amanda Lea LaVergne (Annie), Tony LePage (Come From Away), Madison Micucci (The Band's Visit), Katie Sexton (The Play That Goes Wrong) and Eric Ulloa (On Your Feet!). Musical Director/Accompanist for the evening will be Eugene Gwozdz.

The 2017 awards honor productions which opened between October 1, 2016 and September 30, 2017. Nominations were completely reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended October 31, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors.

The new nonprofit Garry Marshall Theatre's First Annual Founder's Gala will forever be held on November 13th - Garry's birthday and lucky number. John Stamos hosted the event earlier this week. BroadwayWorld was there and brings you photos from the evening below!
