Americans for the Arts announced that acclaimed novelist and playwright Ayad Akhtar will deliver the 34th Annual Nancy Hanks Lecture on Arts & Public Policy. Akhtar will be introduced by Rockefeller Brothers Fund President and CEO Stephen Heintz, and the evening will feature a performance by artists Rez Abbassi and Kiran Ahluwalia.

Bucks County Playhouse will present “Hirschfeld’s Broadway,” a new multi-media presentation illustrating and celebrating some of the most loved moments in American theater as drawn by Al Hirschfeld. The one-night-only event takes place Wednesday, September 28 at 7:30 pm at Bucks County Playhouse.

The Green Room 42 will present a special concert reading of the new musical, Fountain of You, on Monday, September 26 at 7:00 PM. Fountain of You features book and lyrics by Tasha Gordon-Solmon and music by Faye Chiao, and stars Jenni Barber, Jason Veasey and Maya Days.

Keen Company has announced details for its upcoming 2022-2023 season. Anchored by two must-see revivals, not produced in New York since their premieres, Keen’s 23rd season, featuring two of America’s greatest writers, explores how individuals move forward after life-altering change.

The world premiere production of HIGH NOON, based on the iconic and beloved Academy Award-winning film of the same title will arrive on Broadway in 2023.

Carter Calvert, the Broadway actress-singer who previously wowed audiences at Bucks County Playhouse as the iconic country music legend in “Always ... Patsy Cline,” will bring her one-woman show, “Viva La Diva,” back to the historic playhouse on Sunday, August 14 at 7:00 pm.

The Town Hall and T Bone Burnett will present A Tribute to Bob Dylan in partnership with the Bob Dylan Center on September 30, 2022 at 8pm. Curated T Bone Burnett, the show will feature performances by a diverse array of artists, each performing songs written by Dylan spanning the Nobel laureate’s illustrious career.

A trio of Tony-nominated artists, Randy Skinner, Anna Louizos and David C. Woolard, will recreate their work for the Broadway revival of “Dames at Sea,” when the light-hearted, dance-centric musical debuts at Bucks County Playhouse, August 12 – September 11.

Produced by AMC Studios, the six-episode second season will arrive on AMC+ and AMC next year. The season one premiere on June 12 attracted an audience of 2.2 million viewers on AMC in Nielsen live+3 ratings, becoming the #5 cable drama premiere of the current broadcast TV season. Dark Winds is also the #1 new series launch in AMC+ history.

Evancho has been working on a musical panegyric of Joni Mitchell for some time. Closures from the pandemic led to the album's delay. Jackie Evancho - Carousel of Time, will be released late summer of this year, with at least 2 more singles slated for release on digital streaming platforms ahead of the full-length album. The Latinx House, the Sundance Institute’s Women at Sundance program, Netflix, and Shondaland announced three Latina directors who will participate in the inaugural Adelante Directors Fellowship, a groundbreaking program that supports up-and-coming directors’ professional development, creating a pipeline to uplift independent filmmakers.

Six composers have been invited to participate in a lab environment prioritizing craft, innovation, and building a community of next generation film music artists. Led by program director Peter Golub with the support of Creative Advisors working in the industry, the fellows will engage in a week-long Intensive celebrating the power of film music.

Bucks County Playhouse will present a special presentation of a new Broadway musical, “Female Troubles,” at the sixth Oscar Hammerstein Festival on Saturday, June 18 at 7:30 pm. The presentation, which is part concert, part insider’s preview, is open to the public. Tickets are $35.
