Lluis Lleo Announces New Exhibition in NYC

A series of five front-and-back outdoor paintings on carved sandstone slabs from Catalonia by New York-based Spanish artist Lluis Lleó will land on Park Avenue on May 1, 2017. Morpho's Nest in the Cadmium House, a site-specific installation, will parade along the Park Avenue Malls from 52nd to 56th Streets. The 13-foot, 7,000-pound paintings are part of NYC Parks' Art in the Parks program and are presented in conjunction with the Sculpture Committee of the Fund for Park Avenue.

Last night, on Tuesday, November 29th, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) kicked off its Miami Art Week programming with the debut of two visual arts exhibitions: When We Were Young, which features rarely seen contemporary masterworks from the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection paired with newly created works by YoungArts Visual Arts alumni; and Roots, an immersive, site-specific installation of new work by Cuban-American artist Jose Parla.

During this year's Art Basel Miami Beach, the National YoungArts Foundation will host two visual arts exhibitions on their Miami campus, including the debut of a new body of work by José Parlá and an installation of rarely seen masterworks from the JPMorgan Chase Art Collection, as well as a booth at PULSE Miami Beach Contemporary Art Fair. Co-curated by Naomi Fisher (1994 YoungArts Winner in Visual Art) and Luisa Munera, YoungArts Artistic Programs Coordinator, the booth will feature works by ten YoungArts alumni.

The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art (HVCCA) in Peekskill, New York served up a gorgeous valentine with the launch of a year of exhibitions and education exploring the artistic representation of love beginning with LOVE: The First of the 7 Virtues which appropriately opened on Valentine's Day to an enthusiastic response from the community and the scores of attendees from New York City, New Jersey and Connecticut. And even more appropriately, its antithesis Seven Deadly Sins: Lust will open on April 19, 2015. Developed as an FWMA (Fairfield Westchester Museum Alliance) collaboration, each museum will explore a different sin and, in some instances, its parallel virtue.
