A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE's Bryce Pinkham, The New York Pops and More Set for CUNY TV's 'Arts in the City', Beg. 4/11

The April edition of ARTS IN THE CITY celebrates locations, likely and unlikely, for artistic expression by New Yorkers. Hosted by Tinabeth Piña reporting from Brooklyn Museum, the newest ARTS IN THE CITY debuts Friday, April 11 (2014) on CUNY TV* at 10am, 3pm and 8:30pm; is repeated Sunday 4/13 at noon; and returns Friday 4/25 at 10am, 3pm and 8:30pm and on Sunday 4/27 at noon on CUNY TV. Beginning April 11, the program may be viewed anytime on www.cuny.tv.

Photo Flash: Inside The Watermill Center's REFLECTIONS: ART & BEAUTY Exhibition

The worlds of art, fashion, design, theater and media came together for “Reflections: Art & Beauty” a one-night- only exhibition of significant contemporary art works to benefit Robert Wilson's internationally acclaimed arts incubator The Watermill Center. Hosted by Sherle Wagner International, the premier source, world-wide, for luxury bath hardware, and bath accessories and the recently launched Fairweather Magazine dedicated to following La Dolce Vita world-wide, the Vernissage drew over 400 guests to the gorgeous showroom. A magnificent sculpture in painted and chromed steel, “Rev. E. Piscapalian Study” by the renowned John Chamberlain towered over attendees as they arrived and were greeted by Evan Geoffroy, CEO, Sherle Wagner, Alexandra Fairweather and Eric Goodman, co-founders Fairweather Magazine and Pinki Patel of The Watermill Center.

The Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art Presents THE EMPIRE NEVER ENDED

It can be argued that author Philip K Dick (also called PKD) is one of the most influential authors of the 21st century. His works have inspired many films, music albums, artworks and even an opera. It's been forty years since Dick had a religious experience that led to several of his books. The Empire Never Ended features work by artists Prince Rama, Marc Bijl, Serge Onnen and Benny Sanders that are influenced and/or connected to the political and metaphysical themes in PKD's VALIS.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Zac Posen Present Teen Winners of Scholastic Art & Writing Awards at Carnegie Hall, 5/31

On Friday, May 31 at Carnegie Hall, actress and arts advocate Sarah Jessica Parker and fashion designer Zac Posen will share the spotlight with the talented teens who received national honors in the 90 th annual Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. More than 800 teens from 47 states, along with their families and teachers, are expected to attend the celebration. There, 15 graduating seniors will receive Portfolio Gold Medals, the Awards' highest honor, which includes a $10,000 scholarship. For the first time in the Awards' 90-year history, the ceremony will be webcast live so people across the nation can share in the celebration.

The Celeste Prize and Invisible Dog Will Showcase 35 New Artists 11/12

Celeste and The Invisible Dog are promoting Brooklyn Open Studios, from 10am to 7pm, a day in which it will be possible to visit artists in their studios in Brooklyn. Brooklyn Open Studios is a unique initiative which supports artists and puts them in direct contact with the public.
