On Sunday afternoon, June 5th renowned Canadian tenor Ben Heppner and brilliant pianist Daniel Vnukowski performed a stirring rendition of Richard Strauss' Enoch Arden, based on the heart-wrenching poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson during his tenure as England's Poet Laureate in 1864.

The MET Orchestra returns to Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage for the first time since June 2019, performing two concerts under the baton of Music Director and Conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin, both showcasing internationally acclaimed vocalists who have been featured on The Metropolitan Opera stage.

HBO joins a documentary based on Sports Illustrated’s groundbreaking cover story of the alleged sexual abuse scandal at Ohio State University (OSU) that spanned three decades. The film, produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov of Smokehouse Pictures and David C. Glasser of 101 Studios, will debut on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max.

Arabella  is a beautiful opera - a romantic comedy, which shimmers with youthful vitality and curious infatuation. It was the last major collaboration between Richard Strauss and Hugo von Hofmannsthal, who at the beginning of the 20th century created immortal works together.

The Bard Music Festival returns for its 32nd season this August, with an intensive two-week exploration of “Rachmaninoff and His World.” In twelve themed concert programs, Bard examines Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873–1943), perhaps the last great exponent of Russian Romanticism, who nevertheless embodied many contradictions.

Music Director Andris Nelsons leads the orchestra in three monumental Strauss works: the tone poems Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks and Symphonia domestica (described above) as well as the Symphonic Fantasy on Die Frau ohne Schatten ('Woman with a Shadow'), Strauss' own 1946 distillation of his fabulist 1919 opera.
