PIPPIN's Matthew James Thomas Up for Lead Role in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII?

According to Variety, Thomas is currently on J.J. Abrams' short list for the lead role in Disney and LucasFilm's STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. Though details on the role are scarce, insiders have confirmed that he's a young Jedi apprentice, who will challenge GIRLS star Adam Driver in the film, who recently signed on to play the villain in the next installment of the franchise.

Betty Buckley, Will Power & More Set for THEATER TALK's Season Premiere, 9/27

THEATER TALK, co-hosted for its 22nd consecutive year on New York television by Michael Riedel of the New York Post and producer Susan Haskins, premieres its 2013-2014 season by focusing on two new Off-Broadway successes, The Old Friends by Horton Foote at Signature Theatre and Fetch Clay, Make Man by Will Power at New York Theatre Workshop.

Nicola has announced that Fetch Clay, Make Man, written by Will Power and directed by Des McAnuff, will begin performances tonight, August 23 at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is set for Thursday, September 12 at 7pm. Fetch Clay, Make Man is scheduled to run through Sunday, October 13; tickets are on sale now.

OSF Opens 2013 Season on February 22

The Tony Award-winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival's 2013 preview performances begin February 15, and the season will open Friday night, February 22 with Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, directed by David Ivers. On Saturday, August Wilson's Two Trains Running, directed by Lou Bellamy, takes the stage, as does Lerner and Loewe's classic American musical My Fair Lady, directed by Amanda Dehnert. Sunday afternoon in the Thomas Theatre, Shakespeare's King Lear opens, directed by OSF Artistic Director Bill Rauch.

Little Orphan Annie will take to the 24th Street Theatre stage tonight, November 9 through December 2. In the classic musical, set in 1930s New York City, Annie finds refuge from an orphanage run by the embittered Miss Hannigan when billionaire Oliver Warbucks invites her to spend the holidays with him.

Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia to Star in HEMINGWAY & FUENTES

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anthony Hopkins will portray American writer Ernest Hemingway in the new film HEMINGWAY & FUENTES. Andy Garcia, who will portray fisherman, Gregorio Fuentes, is set to direct the film.

BALLAD OF THE PALE FISHERMAN Comes to Illusion Theater, 2/10

BALLAD OF THE PALE FISHERMAN re-imagines the Irish/Scottish folktale of the seal woman-or selkie-in Illusion Theater's seventh annual Lights Up! series. The 2010 Fringe Favorite of the same name has been expanded into a deeper, richer production, fully-produced with original music and incorporating new material. Isabel K. Nelson directs this award-winning show (voted 2010 Fringe Outstanding Performance, Outstanding Direction and Outstanding Production) on stage February 10-25, 2012, at the Illusion, 528 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis.
