Filming on STAR WARS EPISODE VII to Get Underway This May

According to Variety, Disney and Lucasfilm's announced today that filming on "Star Wars: Episode VII" will get underway this May.

The new "Star Wars" will take place 30 years after "Return of the Jedi" and will include new and familiar faces.

"Girls"'s star Adam Driver is in discussion to portray the villain in the new film. Other potential casting for lead roles include Ed Speleers, John Boyega, Jesse Plemons and Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher.

Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to potentially hit theaters sometime in 2015 with a script by Michael Arndt, should everything with newly-tapped director J.J. Abrams run smoothly. Disney and Lucasfilm plan to release a new installment of the trilogy every other year, including origin stories for Ford's Han Solo, Boba Fett, and possibly even Yoda.

J.J., his longtime producing partner Bryan Burk, and Bad Robot are on board to produce along with Kathleen Kennedy under the Disney | Lucasfilm banner.
