Rachel Bobbitt Shares New Single 'Clay Feet'

Emerging Toronto-based artist Rachel Bobbitt has shared a new single entitled, “Clay Feet,” the second track from her recently announced new EP The Half We Still Have. The track’s accompanying video was shot in the foothills of Malibu, CA by director Lauren Wade. The EP was produced and mixed by Jorge Elbrecht (Sky Ferreira, Japanese Breakfast).

Theatre in the X, which was created in 2013 to provide the people of West Philadelphia and the African American community at large the opportunity to see professional quality theater in their own neighborhood for no cost, is celebrating their 10th anniversary this August by presenting a rarely-staged work by late Philadelphia-born playwright Charles Fuller, who died in October 2022 at the age of 83.

For a variety of logistical reasons, immersive or environmentally-staged theatre, in which the audience is seated in the midst of the action, is rarely undertaken. Prior to seeing the show I'm reviewing, the only such performance I recall was in college at Salisbury University. An ambitious directing student chose a scene from Sean O'Casey's 'The Plough and the Stars;' transformed the black box theatre into the tenement house where the play takes place and sat the audience members at various places therein.

The final day of the Harrisburg Fringe Festival was just as exciting as the previous days. In spite of the rain, there were full houses for many of the performances, and audiences and artists alike were enthusiastic and ready for another day to “do something weird.”
