The five-week limited engagement for The Lion will open tonight, June 26.

Ars Nova is now accepting applications for Play Group, a vibrant and eclectic group of emerging writers who gather twice a month at Ars Nova to share new work and get peer feedback. The group offers members the chance to develop their plays with peer support; to be inspired by each other's work; to form collaborative relationships; and to build a strong sense of community within Ars Nova. All emerging playwrights are eligible for membership. If selected, new members will be invited to join for a period of two years beginning in January of 2015.

With the return of a sibling, the daily routine of life is shaken up in South Coast Repertory's world premiere of Five Mile Lake by Rachel Bonds. Bonds' new drama is one of three full productions for the 2014 Pacific Playwrights Festival. The show runs April 13-May 4, on the Julianne Argyros Stage. Daniella Topol directs. Actors Theatre of Louisville Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein have announced the three ten-minute plays chosen to premiere during the 38th Humana Festival of New American Plays (February 26 - April 6, 2014). This year's ten-minute plays are Winter Games by Rachel Bonds, Some Prepared Remarks (A History in Speech) by Jason Gray Platt and Poor Shem by Gregory Hischak.
