The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center has announced that, after 16 years with the organization, CEO/Producer Preston Whiteway will depart in August 2020.

Sony Masterworks Broadway just announced the December 6 release of SUPERHERO (ORIGINAL CAST RECORDING) with music and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize, Tony and Emmy Award-winning composer Tom Kitt (Jagged Little Pill, Next to Normal, If/Then) and book by Tony and Golden Globe Award-winning writer John Logan (Moulin Rouge! The Donmar Warehouse announces the full cast for Teenage Dick, Mike Lew's darkly comic take on Shakespeare's Richard III, directed by Donmar Artistic Director Michael Longhurst. Joining previously announced cast Daniel Monks and Susan Wokoma are Callum Adams, Alice Hewkin, Siena Kelly and Ruth Madeley.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Jeremy O. Harris' SLAVE PLAY will come to Broadway this fall. The production, directed by Robert O'Hara, begin previews on Sept. 10, 2019 and run through Jan. 20, 2020.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center just held its Monte Cristo Award Gala last night at the Edison Ballroom- an event that featured opening remarks from composer, actor and Tony Award-winner, Lin-Manuel Miranda.  Academy Award-winning actor and O'Neill Center trustee, Michael Douglas presented the iconic statue to playwright and screenwriter John Logan, at the gala evening in celebration of Logan's many achievements.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, celebrates the final stop of its 81st Rolling World Premiere (RWP): Unicorn Theatre's production of Nomad Motel by Carla Ching. The Roll began at City Theatre Company, continued to Horizon Theatre Company and will run at Unicorn Theatre from January 23 to February 27, 2019 in Kansas City, MO. Nomad Motel was presented at NNPN's 2016 National Showcase of New Plays, hosted by the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Texas at Austin.

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, announces that playwright and screenwriter John Logan will receive the 19th Monte Cristo Award. An alumnus of the O'Neill, John developed the musical Superhero, soon to open off-Broadway, at the O'Neill's 2017 National Music Theater Conference and his Moulin Rouge bows on Broadway this summer. A gala evening in celebration of Logan's many achievements will be held at the Edison Ballroom (New York) on Monday, April 22, 2019.

New York Theatre Workshop's (NYTW) world premiere of Slave Play by Jeremy O. Harris (Daddy, Zola), directed by two-time Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (Bootycandy), will conclude its smash-hit run on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) announced today that due to high demand, the world premiere of Slave Play by Jeremy O. Harris (Daddy, Zola), directed by two-time Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (Bootycandy), will run for an additional two weeks. Originally scheduled to play its final performance on December 30, 2018, Slave Play will now play additional performances through Sunday January 13, 2019. Slave Play began previews on Monday, November 19, 2018 and will open Sunday, December 9 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003).
