Proctors Partners With Union College For Upcoming Movie Series

Proctors is kicking off a new film series “Hollywood's Golden Age” to be screened in the GE and Addy Theatre at Proctors in Schenectady. This series will be broken up into four smaller series, one of which will be partnering with the Union College Film Studies program.

This winter, the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) presents a retrospective of the films of Jacques Becker (1906–1960), whose richly detailed worlds, indelible characters, and a humanist outlook elevated genre filmmaking to an art form. The series brings together Becker's most celebrated films, lesser known gems, and newly restored versions. The series will run from January 8 to February 26 in FIAF's Florence Gould Hall.

Aside from the collection of rare posters, the sale, which will take place June 13th at Bonhams New York (580 Madison Avenue), will feature Bette Davis's personal Sarah Siddons Award, letters, film props, contracts, and theatre and film ephemera will be available. These items come from the personal collections of Robert Osborne and David Staller.
