Trustus Theatre Presents DANCE NATION

Trustus Theatre's 37th season continues with the regional premiere of Dance Nation, Clare Barron's award-winning play about pre-teen competetive dancers and the burden of adolescence. Trustus staff member Abigail McNeely directs the show with choreography by Brailey Johnson, assisted by Shaundra Moreland.

Playwrights Horizons Extends Sanaz Toossi's WISH YOU WERE HERE

Playwrights Horizons today announced a one-week extension of Sanaz Toossi’s Wish You Were Here, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, to May 29. Wish You Were Here chronicles 13 years of everyday life through the Iranian Revolution and Iran-Iraq War, as best friends forever become friends long lost, scattered and searching for home.

World Premiere of THE BRIGHTEST THING IN THE WORLD & More Announced for Yale Rep 2022-23 Season

Yale Repertory Theatre has announced its 2022–23 season of four plays. The season will begin with Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, running October 6–29. James Bundy, who directed Albee’s A Delicate Balance at Yale Rep in 2010, will stage this new production of the explosively comedic and harrowingly profound masterpiece. 

KRISTINA WONG, SWEATSHOP OVERLORD Added to La Jolla Playhouse 2022/2023 season

La Jolla Playhouse has announced that Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord, written and performed by Kristina Wong (who was featured in the Playhouse’s Digital WOW production of Binge), directed by Chay Yew (Playhouse’s Cambodian Rock Band), will be added to its 2022/2023 season, running September 20 – October 16.

The Theatre Company Present THE THIN PLACE By Lucas Hnath

The Theatre Company has announced the live Oregon premiere of The Thin Place by award-winning playwright Lucas Hnath, May 15-20, 2022. Presented in partnership with Revolution Hall at Washington High School, The Thin Place uses the intimate surroundings of the Sunset Room to help create an immersive exploration of the fragile boundary between our world and the one just beyond.

ACT - A Contemporary Theatre today announced complete casting for its production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Sweat by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and screenwriter Lynn Nottage (MJ the Musical, The Secret Life of Bees). 

Yale Repertory Theatre to Present BETWEEN TWO KNEES

Yale Repertory Theatre will conclude its 2022 season with Between Two Knees. The play, written by the intertribal sketch comedy troupe The 1491s and directed by Eric Ting, is presented with Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Between Two Knees will be performed May 12–June 4 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street).

Tovah Feldshuh, Andrew Dawson, Kelly McAndrew, Matt Servitto, Allan K. Washington, and Kayce Wilson will join previously announced Arnie Burton, Jasminn Johnson, Lauren Molina, Reg Rogers, Ari'el Stachel, Jason Tam, completing the cast for the Gala Benefit Reading of Light Up the Sky by Moss Hart, directed by Mr. Silverstein.

Playwrights Horizons to Present the World Premiere of Will Arbery's CORSICANA

Playwrights Horizons will present Will Arbery’s Corsicana, directed by Sam Gold, June 2–July 10 (opening June 22) in the Mainstage Theater. In Corsicana, a small city in Texas, a woman with Down syndrome named Ginny and her half-brother Christopher are unmoored in the wake of their mother’s death.
