Brendan Coyle of DOWNTON ABBEY Will Lead the Goodman Theatre's MOLLY SWEENEY; Full Cast Announced!

Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls has announced casting for his upcoming revival of Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel. In assuming the title role, Chicago favorite Kate Fry returns to the Goodman, following her recent appearance in Falls' production of The Winter's Tale. Joining Fry are stage and screen star Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), who returns to the Goodman following his triumphant appearance in last season's St. Nicholas by Conor McPherson, and Chicago's Christopher Donahue (Oedipus Rex at Court Theatre, Moby Dick at Lookingglass).

HALFWAY BITCHES GO STRAIGHT TO HEAVEN Extends One Week through December 29

Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director) announces a one week extension for the world premiere production of Halfway Bitches Go Straight to Heaven by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis (Between Riverside and Crazy), directed by Obie Award winner John Ortiz, and co-produced with LAByrinth Theater Company. The production, which opens on Monday, December 9th will now play through Sunday, December 29th, 2019 Off-Broadway at the Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20th Street).

WestEnd Films has closed a US deal with Greenwich Entertainment for Israel's Academy Award submission Incitement, a film by award-winning writer-director Yaron Zilberman (critically acclaimed A Late Quartet with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Christopher Walken). The film recently had its world premiere at TIFF where it received rave reviews, followed by European and UK premieres at the Zurich Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival.

Renee Zellweger to be Honored by Santa Barbara International Film Festival

The Santa Barbara International Film Festival announced today that Renée Zellweger is set to receive the illustrious American Riviera Award in January 2020. Zellweger will be recognized for her many attributes to the art of film over the years, and most recently, her work as Judy Garland in LD Entertainment and Roadside Attractions' JUDY. The tribute will take place at the historic Arlington Theatre during the 35th Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Studio Theatre Extends Pulitzer Prize-Winning DOUBT: A Parable

Studio Theatre is extending its season-opening production of Doubt: A Parable, adding five performances through October 13, 2019. John Patrick Shanley's masterpiece received the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize for its compelling interrogation of certitude and scandal within the Catholic Church. Studio's production is directed by the theatre's Associate Artistic Director Matt Torney and is anchored by DC theatre treasure Sarah Marshall, distinguished by having performed at Studio more than any other actor. Hub Theatre Company of Boston will finish their seventh season with the darkly comedic courtroom drama The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, by Pulitzer Prize winning and Tony Award nominated playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis, directed by award winning local favorite Steven Bogart.

San Francisco Playhouse Announces Bay Area Premiere Of DANCE NATION

San Francisco Playhouse announced casting for the Bay Area premiere of Dance Nation, Clare Barron's award-winning play about pre-teen competitive dancers. Becca Wolff will direct the Playhouse production, with choreography by Kimberly Richards.
