2016 Dora Awards Held Monday; VIP Presenters Announced!

Jacoba Knaapen, Toronto Alliance or the Performing Arts (TAPA) Executive Director and Dora Mavor Moore Awards Producer, announced the VIP presenters today for the 37th Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, to be held on Monday, June 27 at Harbourfront Centre's open air Concert Stage (formerly WestJet Stage), a 1,300-seat venue covered by a transparent roof with open sides.

The Blyth Festival proudly presents the world premiere of The Wilberforce Hotel by Sean Dixon. Directed by Philip Akin, The Wilberforce Hotel is on stage at Blyth Memorial Hall from July 1 to August 8. The Wilberforce Hotel is loosely based on the autobiography of Austin Steward; 22 Years a Slave, 40 Years a Freeman.

At a press conference held June 7 at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts, the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts (TAPA) announced 171 nominations for 197 eligible productions that opened between June 1, 2010 and May 31, 2011 for the 32nd annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards which honour excellence in the performing arts in Toronto.
