Nashville Ballet announced its performance line-up today for the 2012-2013 season, which includes a new contemporary work featuring Nashville music and the return of several classic story ballets showcasing the versatility of Nashville Ballet dancers.

On May 4, Pace University's inaugural Pace Presents season brings American Ballet Theatre Studio Company (formerly ABT II) to the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts in Lower Manhattan.

The world-renowned Russian ballet company, Bolshoi Ballet, marks its return to Toronto with SWAN LAKE, a production that celebrated its world premiere by the same company on March 4, 1877.

Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) presents "Ballerina Assoluta: A Tribute to Natalia Makarova" on Saturday, April 28 at 7:00 PM at David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. This evening of dance will illustrate Natalia Makarova's contribution to the art of ballet by presenting some of her most iconic roles performed by today's leading dancers. Performers include Marcelo Gomes (American Ballet Theatre), Natalia Osipova (American Ballet Theatre/Mikhailovsky Theatre St. Petersburg), Sergei Polunin (formally of The Royal Ballet), Tamara Rojo (The Royal Ballet), Yuan Yuan Tan (San Francisco Ballet), Ivan Vasiliev (American Ballet Theatre/Mikhailovsky Theatre St. Petersburg) and Diana Vishneva (American Ballet Theatre/Mariinsky Ballet). Ms. Makarova will narrate the program, reflecting on her experiences as a dancer. In addition, rare photos and archival footage will be shared. Today The Australian Ballet has launched a 10 part web series, A year inside The Australian Ballet, following Senior Artist Amy Harris and Corps de ballet member Jake Mangakahia as they embark on our 50th anniversary. A new episode will be posted each month and are produced by Melbourne based videographers The Apiary.

Beck Center's Dance Workshop and Dance Education program will present an encore production of a condensed version of Tchaikovsky's classic ballet Sleeping Beauty April 27 through 29 in the Recital Hall of the Music-Armory Building at the Beck Center for the Arts. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are on sale now.

The classic full-length ballet Swan Lake will be performed in four acts by Moscow Festival Ballet at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on Tues. Feb. 28 @ 8:00 PM. The music for Swan Lake is by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikowski and choreography is by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. Swan Lake premiered: March 4, 1877 Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow, and his since been made infamous. The inspired story has regenerated itself throughout the years in popular culture with films like the animated 1994 children's favorite The Swan Princess and of course the much darker Black Swan, 2010.
