Blue Curtain regretfully announced that Eddie Palmieri’s appearance on Saturday, July 16 has been cancelled due to a family emergency.  

Blue Curtain, a beloved Princeton summer tradition, returns to the Pettoranello Gardens Amphitheater (Route 206 and Mountain Ave) with two FREE concert in July:  The Eddie Palmieri Salsa Orchestra on July 16 and the Ali Ryerson/Peter Levin Quintet on July 30.  Both concerts begin at 7:30 PM.

The bimonthly Pro Jam at Club Helsinki Hudson returns on Thursday, December 19, at 8pm. As always, the region's top musicians will join together for an evening of blues-based jamming. This time out, the core band will feature Tas Cru (guitar/vocals), Petey Hop (guitar/vocals), Jay Collins (saxophone/vocals), Kyle Esposito (bass/vocals), Pete Levin (keyboards) and Sonny Rock (drums).

Celebrated within the jazz community as a multi-talented musician, Lisa Maxwell, finally releases a long-awaited album of her own material, dedicated to a special cohort. The lineup reads like a Who's Who of the music world (see personnel below).

Canadian Composer Joel Levine speaks a unique voice with the recorder with his debut release The Whistleblower on the Iyouwe label. The 13 song disc, Levine's first as a solo artist, finds the Toronto based recorder player joined by singers and instrumentalists including legendary drummer and multi-Grammy award winner Lenny White.

Keyboardist-arranger-composer Pete Levin's ninth solo release, M bius, was recorded live in the studio in two days, capturing the 'no boundaries' spirit of Gil Evans. The music explores textural grooves ranging from straight-ahead bop to funk, world-beat, and the experimental. He is set for a CD Release Performance on November 8 at 7:00pm at The Cutting Room, 44 E. 32nd St., New York. More info, click here.

New York based vocalist Teri Roiger recently released her fourth recording as a leader, 'GHOST OF YESTERDAY: Shades of Lady Day', a heartfelt tribute to Billie Holiday. Since Ms. Holiday provided the initial spark that led to a lifelong commitment to jazz, this one is especially personal to Teri.

Vocalist, pianist, lyricist, composer and teacher Teri Roiger will appear at Mezzrow on September 12th at 8:00pm & 9:30pm along with Frank Kimbrough, John Menegon and Steve Williams.

A celebration of the life and music of Lew Soloff (Feb. 20, 1944-Mar 8, 2015) is scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2015 at the John C. Borden Auditorium, located at the Manhattan School of Music. This event is free to the public and begins at 7:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:15pm for early seating.
