 La Jolla Playhouse's world-premiere productions of Come From Away, featuring book, music and lyrics by David Hein and Irene Sankoff and direction by Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley, and Indecent, by Paula Vogel, are both up for multiple Tony Awards this season. The Tony Awards ceremony takes place this Sunday, June 11 at 8:00pm, broadcast on CBS.

Today, June 9th, the Dramatists Legal Defense Fund will welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel and noted historian and Harvard lecturer Dr. Timothy McCarthy in a conversation about the history and cultural impact of the censored 1923 Broadway production of Sholem Asch's God of Vengeance and the new Broadway play inspired by it, this season's Tony-nominated Indecent.

Paula Vogel, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of the triple Tony Award-nominated Broadway play Indecent, was the special guest speaker at a private reception honoring Workmen's Circle Life Members on Monday, June 5.

The Vineyard Theatre's Annual Emerging Artists Luncheon was just held at the National Arts Club, featuring the presentation of the 2016-2017 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award by Paula Vogel to Kate Tarker (THUNDERBODIES), who began her residency last fall.

On Monday, the League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW), a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre, welcomed Tony Award nominated and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, who received this year's Lifetime Achievement Obie Award and whose critically-acclaimed Indecent is nominated for a 2017 Tony Award for Best New Play. Vogel discussed her extensive body of work in theatre, film and TV, with Drama Critic Linda Winer. CUNY TV will salute the upcoming 2017 Tony Awards with a new TONY Preview Special on ARTS IN THE CITY, plus a new 2017 TONY Predictions episode and a new TONY Time Critics panel, both on THEATER TALK. In addition, CUNY TV will present a marathon showing of THEATER TALK 2016-17 episodes and other programs related to this year's Tony nominees - all leading up to 8pm on June 11 when the annual TONY AWARDS Ceremony begins on CBS.

A friendly reminder! Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Fulfillment Center, the new play by Abe Koogler (Kill Floor), directed by Daniel Aukin (Fool For Love at MTC), begins performances tomorrow, Tuesday, June 6, at The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series at New York City Center - Stage II (131 West 55th Street). The limited engagement will open Tuesday, June 20.
