Six Young Stars Shine In SA Premiere Of KINKY BOOTS

Six young stars will have the chance to shine in the South African premiere of hit Tony Award-winning musical KINKY BOOTS. Presented by Eric Abraham and The Fugard Theatre, a brand new, original production of this huge-hearted musical will run at The Fugard Theatre from 11 June 2019.

BWW Review: ADMISSIONS, Trafalgar Studios

News emerged today that Hollywood actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were among 50 wealthy people charged in a college cheating scam dumbed 'Varsity Blues', in which they allegedly paid bribes of up to $6 million to secure places for their offspring at top universities. In a strange twist of fate, the breaking story coincides with the UK opening of Joshua Harmon's incendiary satire Admissions, which demonstrates that even those with the most devout liberal principles about progress and fairness can falter when it comes to their own family and self-interest.

BWW Review: SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE's Enchanting Return To The Fugard Theatre

Eric Abraham's award-winning production of Shakespeare in Love is back at the Fugard Theatre by popular demand. Its highly anticipated return comes after a sold-out run at the end of 2017 and this latest production boasts a handful of fresh cast members as well as a new lead actor. While one might sometimes associate Shakespeare with languid lines of prose and a faint understanding of Early Modern English, there is nothing idle about this captivating romantic comedy.

VIDEO: Sir Ian McKellen Sits Down with Christiane Amanpour

Award winning actor Sir Ian McKellen sits down with Christiane Amanpour in the Duke of York Theatre for a one on one interview. Currently, McKellen is starring in the title role of Shakespeare's King Lear. He sat down with Amanpour to discuss his career on stage and screen as well as his gay rights activism.

BWW Review: KING LEAR, Duke of York's Theatre

Following on from a hugely successful run at Chichester, Sir Ian McKellen is back in the title role of King Lear, in the same theatre in which he made his West End debut in 1964. The Duke of York's is decidedly bigger than the Minerva, but with the addition of a walkway through the centre of the auditorium reducing the theatre capacity substantially, there's a much more intimate feel.

BWW Review: Paapa Essiedu is a Fresh, New HAMLET at the Kennedy Center

If you've somehow missed the buzz surrounding Paapa Essiedu in the title role of Royal Shakespeare Company's HAMLET, let me be the one to tell you: get thee to the Kennedy Center before the end of its very short run. Simon Godwin directs this contemporary, graffiti-splashed, West Africa-set take on the classic, buoyed by enthralling performances from an excellent cast.
