The celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of Paul Taylor's choreographic career filled the stage and the screen - computer screens that is, with announcements regarding the company's future trajectory - in the way that only Paul Taylor can. The choreographer's choices, both in his dances and dialogue, cover the spectrum of ideologies. Throughout his career, Taylor allowed himself to be in the moment, whatever the moment, and continues to contribute in a very important, seemingly endless conversation: how modern dance maintains its relevance alongside contemporary dance without losing its heritage. A few Taylor twists this season: six dollar tickets, added alumni performance, and anticipated diversified repertory with works from other choreographers.

On March 15, 2014, American Repertory Ballet will hold its annual Gala performance and reception, Diamond Gala, in downtown New Brunswick, NJ. The performance will begin at 6:00pm at Crossroads Theater, and the reception will begin at 7:00pm across the street at the Heldrich Hotel. The reception, designed by Cassandre Snyder Events and Design, will include a gourmet dinner, dancing to the music of The Kenny i Orchestra, live and silent auctions, and more. Princeton Ballet School students ages 12-18 years can enjoy a Junior Gala party with dinner, dancing and silent auction, also at the Heldrich Hotel.

Making their Auditorium Theatre debut, Houston Ballet brings their enchanted production of celebrated choreographer David Bintley's "Aladdin" to the landmark stage, March 22 - 23, 2014.

On Sunday 23rd March at St James Studio the stars of the West End will sing songs of Steven Luke Walker; featuring Alice Fearn, Rob Houchen, Rebecca Lock, Scott Garnham, Jordan Lee Davies, Ellie Kirk, Anna McGarahan, Elissa Clare Morgan, Martin Dickinson, Alastair Barron, and the GSA/The Union Theatre cast of 'Little Women'. Steven's work was performed at St James Studio in September last year alongside Jonathan Reid Gealt and Craig Adams. This will be an acoustic night dedicated solely to Steven's portfolio of work which is steeped in epic storytelling, sublime vocal writing and beautiful scoring as well as a self indulgent moment or two.

The Paul Taylor Dance Company previously announced its black-tie gala tonight, March 13th, 2014, which will celebrate its 60th Anniversary. The event, beginning at 6:30 pm, will be held on the Promenade of the Company's performance venue, the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, during the 2014 New York Season, which runs from March 12th through March 30th.

This month, Juilliard Dances Repertory presents repertory works by acclaimed choreographers Eliot Feld, Juilliard alumnus Lar Lubovitch, and Twyla Tharp. Juilliard dancers perform Baker's Dozen by Twyla Tharp; Concerto Six Twenty-Two by Lar Lubovitch; and The Jig is Up by Eliot Feld. All three dances were choreographed between 1979 and 1986, and Juilliard dancers have had the opportunity to learn the dances through intensive work with two of the choreographers - Eliot Feld and Lar Lubovitch - and with Juilliard alumna Shelley Washington, an original member of the cast of Twyla Tharp's work.

Fire Island Dance Festival, the most anticipated event of the season on Fire Island, returns July 18-20, 2014, for its stunning 20th anniversary edition, featuring some of the most exciting and talked-about dance companies in the industry. The festival, produced by and benefiting Dancers Responding to AIDS, is performed outdoors against the dazzling backdrop of the Great South Bay.

Balanchine once said, "See the music, hear the dance". The audience at the Koch Theater on the afternoon of February 22nd 2014 had the opportunity to do exactly that when the works of three very different choreographers brought treasured violin concertos to life. Kudos to Concertmasters Arturo Delmoni and Kurt Nikkanen, who offered admirable solo violin performances.

Carnegie Hall celebrates the 40th anniversary of the groundbreaking contemporary music ensemble Kronos Quartet with a one-night-only concert in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage featuring collaborations with some of the group's close colleagues and longtime artistic partners on Friday, March 28 at 8:00 p.m. The program includes the world premiere of Terry Riley's The Serquent Risadome, commissioned by Carnegie Hall and written for the anniversary, which marks the 27th new work for Kronos by the acclaimed California maverick composer.

Sanders' choreography blends traditional dance theatre with an inventiveness and physicality that gives reason for critics to hail JUNK as 'Philly's most imaginative perpetrator of dare-devilish physical theatre' and declare Sanders as 'the city's most exciting choreographer.'

Three world premieres by Maurice Causey, Charles Moulton and Artistic Director Charles Anderson headline the spring program of Company C Contemporary Ballet April 25-May 11 at ODC Theater in San Francisco and the Lesher Theater in Walnut Creek. The 12-year-old Company will close its 2014 season with a program featuring the world premiere of a new ballet by Maurice Causey (title to be announced), the world premiere of Charles Moulton's New Country and the world premiere of Charles Anderson's What's Behind Door #3 along with reprises of excerpts from Anderson'sAposiopesis and excerpts from Patrick Corbin's Partly Cloudy. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, beloved as one of the world's most popular dance companies, will travel coast to coast beginning in February on a 23-city North American tour hitting major markets such as Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Washington, D.C., and Chicago (full schedule below).
