This spring 2014 season, American Repertory Ballet will present the premiere of Douglas Martin's Firebird, set to Stravinsky's dramatic score. At 'Behind the Music: Stravinsky's Firebird', an On Pointe Enrichment Series event, ARB Artistic Director Douglas Martin and guest lecturer Maestro Michael Pratt will discuss this ballet's music and history. 'Behind the Music' will be held today, January 10, 2014 at 5:15pm at Princeton Ballet School (301 North Harrison Street, above McCaffrey's Supermarket).

Artistic Director Karen A. Fuhrman announced today that GROUNDED AERIAL, a visceral aerial dance company, will present EMOTIONALLY CHARGED CHOREOGRAPHY AMPLIFIED INTO THE AIR on Saturday, January 25th at 8pm at the Lehman Center for Performing Arts (250 Bedford Park Boulevard, West Bronx).

Parsons Dance, under the artistic direction of acclaimed choreographer David Parsons, will play a celebratory two-week engagement, marking the company's 30th Anniversary season, at The Joyce Theater from January 14 - 26. The season will include the world premiere of Parsons' The Introduction, along with audience favorites from the company's repertoire, such as Nascimento Novo, The Envelope and, of course, Caught. Also seen this engagement will be Robert Battle's The Hunt and, for the special opening night performance only, an excerpt from Paul Taylor's Cloven Kingdom, performed by members of Paul Taylor Dance Company. Juilliard Dance, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, presents New Dances PLUS: Edition 2013 from tonight, December 11-15, 2013featuring Juilliard alumna Pina Bausch's Wind von West (Wind from the West) performed by 4th-Year Dancers, plus three world premiere commissions created for each of the classes of Juilliard's Dance Division.

American Repertory Ballet's Nutcracker production is celebrating 50 consecutive years this coming holiday season. It is one of the longest-running Nutcracker productions in the United States, and is the longest-running in New Jersey. Today, November 30, 2013, directly following the 4:30pm performance at McCarter Theatre, American Repertory Ballet will hold a celebratory reception at The Nassau Club in Princeton.
