Cardiff's Sherman Theatre Announces Autumn 2018 Season

Sherman Theatre is today unveiling its Autumn 2018 season, led with the announcement that it is to mount a major new production of Welsh dramatist Meic Povey's Fel Anifail from 11-20 October. Before his passing last year, the playwright - one of Wales' most important dramatists - gave his blessing for the production.

SundanceTV & Sundance Now Announces Partnership with Tele Munchen Group for THE NAME OF THE ROSE

Tele München Group (TMG) and AMC Networks' SundanceTV and Sundance Now have announced a partnership on the major television event, THE NAME OF THE ROSE, produced by 11 Marzo Film, Palomar and TMG in co-production with SundanceTV and RAI Fiction. The limited series will launch in 2019 on RAI in Italy and SundanceTV in the US, and will stream on Sundance Now in the US and Canada.

Theatr Clwyd Announces Further Programming For 2018

With The Assassination of Katie Hopkins in rehearsals, Artistic Director of Theatr Clwyd, Tamara Harvey and Executive Director, Liam Evans-Ford today announce the 2018 Autumn Season for the company. This includes an all-female cast in a co-production with Sherman Theatre of Lord of the Flies and a first-time co-production with Clean Break of the world premiere of Thick as Thieves from award-winning Welsh playwright Katherine Chandler.

Helen Mirren Will Star in HBO's Catherine the Great Miniseries

Helen Mirren will star in the titular role in the four-part HBO/Sky miniseries Catherine the Great, according to Deadline. Mirren also executive produces the project, which is written by Nigel Williams and directed by Philip Martin. The series is set to begin filming later this year.

Outcry is staging the show with four casts, two are all boys and two are all girls.  Run - August 17 - Sept 3.

BWW Previews: SENHOR DAS MOSCAS (Lord Of The Flies), Golding's Dark Fable, Receives Musical Version at Teatro do SESI

Senhor das Moscas (Lord of the Flies), a 1954 novel by Nobel Prize-winning English author William Golding opens at Teatro do SESI for free season from May 4 to December 3. With direction by Ze Henrique de Paula, musical direction by Fernanda Maia, cast of 13 actors, and  translation by Herbert Bianchi and Ze Henrique de Paula; the story's premise focuses on a group of British boys stranded on an uninhabited island and their attempt to govern themselves, with disastrous results.

BWW Review: THE IMPORTANCE Original Studio Cast Recording

Originally staged in 1984, The Importance remains the only musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest to run in London. After a limited run here, the production found a new lease of life in Peterborough two years later under a different title, Born in a Handbag. This recording has been a labour of love with over twenty years in production and is being released by Stage Door Records at the end of this month.

West End THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST Cast Album to be Released in February

Stage Door Records are pleased to announce that the previously unreleased studio cast recording of the 1984 West End musical 'The Importance' will be released on February 26th, 2016. The CD release continues Stage Door's commitment to preserve 'lost' British theatre scores of the past 50 years.

WaterTower Theatre Announces LORD OF THE FLIES Cast, Creative Team

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced casting and creative team details for the regional premiere of Lord of the Flies, directed by Kelsey Leigh Ervi. The production, based on the William Golding novel and adapted for the stage by Nigel Williams, will run January 22 - February 14, 2016. Individual tickets to Lord of the Flies will go on sale December 15 at 12 noon and will be available by calling 972-450-6232 or online at www.watertowertheatre.org. Lord of the Flies is sponsored by Atmos Energy and Slalom Consulting.
