EIGHT TALES OF PEDRO Will Have Its World Premiere At The UnFringed Festival At The Secret Theatre In Queens

The world premiere of the new play Eight Tales of Pedro will be part of the unFringed Festival at the Secret Theatre. Written by Mark-Eugene Garcia (Standby, Facing East: A New Musical, The Holy Cows of Credence South Dakota), the production is directed by Rodrigo Ernesto Bolanos (Unmissed Connections, The Holy Cows...) and will begin on August 12th and run through the 29th at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City. The story is based on the Spanish tales of Pedro Urdemales and the Puerto Rican tales of Juan Bobo.

THE WAR PARTY To Have New York Premiere At FringeNYC

The new political satire, THE WAR PARTY will have it's New York City premiere at The New York International Fringe Festival in October. Written by Vincent Delaney's and directed by Broadway veteran Don Stephenson (Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Goodspeed, Paper Mill Playhouse), the limited run will play October 14 - 23 in Manhattan.

EULALIA: A Bedtime Story To Premiere At FringeNYC This October

Pretty Bird Theater Company is proud to present the world premiere of Eulalia: A Bedtime Story, a one-woman show adapted from the writings of the Infanta Eulalia of Spain. Written and performed by Sarah Cuneo, Eulalia: A Bedtime Story will run for five performances, October 12-22, as part of the 2018 New York International Fringe Festival.

Bess Wohl's AMERICAN HERO Gets LA Premiere at Pasadena Playhouse

IAMA Theatre Company opens its 2018-19 season with a darkly comic celebration of the power of teamwork and unity to overcome adversity. James Eckhouse directs the Los Angeles premiere ofAmerican Hero, opening Sept. 21 in aPasadena Playhouse guest production at the Carrie Hamilton Theatre. Performances will continue through Oct. 21, with low-priced previews beginning Sept. 15.

Shakespeare Adaptation R+J Is Set In A Female Dominated Future, Begins 9/27

Hypokrit Theatre Company and Access Theater present R + J, a female/genderqueer adaptation of Shakespeare's classic Romeo and Juliet. Adapted and directed by Molly Houlahan featuring a diverse cast of 6 women/ gender-nonconforming actors playing all of the roles, previews begin September 27 at Access Theater in Tribeca. Opening is slated for Thursday, October 4.

Kal Mansoor Brings A BRIEF HISTORY OF COLONIZATION to NYC Fringe

The New York International Fringe Festival is pleased to present A Brief History of Colonization from October 12 to 28, 2018. Written, produced and performed by Kal Mansoor, and directed by Rick Allen Wilson, A Brief History of Colonization sees a culturally- conflicted British-Indian comedian attempt to make a Hollywood movie about India's colonial past, forcing him to revisit his own and discover the beauty and richness of his heritage, despite what he has been led to believe about it. A Brief History of Colonization will be performed in the Westbeth Artist Community Building (155 Bank Street, corner of Washington Street) in New York's West Village.

THE IMBIBLE: A SPIRITED HISTORY OF DRINKING Celebrates 4th Anniversary

On August 8th, 2014, THE IMBIBLE: A SPIRITED HISTORY OF DRINKING opened at the New York International Fringe Festival for what was supposed to be a five-performance run. Following sold-out FringeNYC and Fringe Encore engagements, a front-page feature in the Arts section of The New York Times, and three hit sequels, the show moved to an open run at New World Stages.

Scandinavian American Theater Company Presents the US Premiere of BELOVED

Scandinavian American Theater Company (SATC) will present the US Premiere of BELOVED by acclaimed Swedish playwright Lisa Langseth. The play was originally produced in Stockholm starring Noomi Rapace (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Prometheus) and later adapted into the film Pure starring Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl, Tomb Raider), which won the Swedish equivalent of the Academy Award for Best Screenplay. Translated by Charlotte Barslund and directed by Kathy Curtiss, previews begin August 4 at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row. Opening night of this limited-run Off-Broadway engagement is slated for Wednesday, August 8.
