Dessa To Join Minnesota Orchestra for March 2019 Performances; Plus Recording Live for Doomtree Records

Rapper-singer-essayist Dessa returns to Orchestra Hall this March for two performances recorded live with the Minnesota Orchestra, led by Principal Conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall Sarah Hicks. Dessa will perform fan favorites and debut brand-new material. The forthcoming album, slated for release later in 2019, will be produced by Lazerbeak and Andy Thompson for Doomtree Records.

Tim Kubart Receives GRAMMY Nomination For 'Building Blocks'

Grammy Award-winning artist Tim Kubart's album of 12 original songs, Building Blocks, has received a 2018 GRAMMY Award nomination for Best Children's Album. Building Blocks is one of five albums, out of hundreds released this year, to receive the honor. The 61st GRAMMY Awards celebrations will be hosted by the Recording Academy in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 10, 2019.

The Cleveland Orchestra's Presents ARIADNE AUF NAXOS

On January 13, 17 and 19 Franz Welser-Most and The Cleveland Orchestra continue an ongoing commitment to present opera at Severance Hall with a made-for-Cleveland production of Richard Strauss's Ariadne auf Naxos which is being performed for the first time in the Orchestra's history. In his years as music director, Welser-Most has led The Cleveland Orchestra in performances of many orchestral works by Richard Strauss, as well as presentations of four other Strauss operas: Elektra (2004), Der Rosenkavalier (2007), Salome (2012), and Daphne (2015).

11th Annual Bushwick Film Festival Set To Take Place October 10-14

The Bushwick Film Festival (BFF) has announced the full program for their 11th annual run. This year's Opening Night will be sponsored by Spectrum and kicks off on Wednesday,October 10th with a Red Carpet Reception and screening at House of Yes. The festivities will continue through Sunday,October 14th, with 40+ events ranging from feature and short film screenings to special events, parties and panels. BWW Review: Ron Sexsmith, INNERchamber and the Stratford Summer Music Festival present SONGS FROM DEER LIFE

Last week, the Stratford Summer Music Festival teamed with Canadian (and Stratford resident) singer-songwriter, Ron Sexsmith to present SONGS FROM DEER LIFE-an in-concert production of a musical that Sexsmith has written based on his Fairy Tale, DEER LIFE. Along with a group of talented musicians from the INNERchamber ensemble, a fantastic children's choir, and performers Barbara Fulton and Mike Nadajewski, Sexsmith put on a wonderful show filled with intriguing new music. This was the first time this music was heard by the public, but it certainly won't be the last!
