Bickford Theatre Announces 2018-19 Season - Shakespeare, FOLLIES, and More

The Morris Museum has announced the 2018-19 season in its Bickford Theatre, adventuring into new programming directions, while continuing to support live theatre and jazz. Notable, new additions this season include an expanded program of documentary and classic film, storytelling workshops, a public lecture series, and a new relationship with National Theatre London. Seats for most of this season's events are reserved. Tickets are available online at www.morrismuseum.org or by phone at 973-971-3706. The Bickford Theatre continues to provide a diverse set of offerings, while taking advantage of a unique strength as a theatre within a museum 'ecosystem'.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world premiere of Seize the King, by Will Power (The Seven, Honey Bo and the Goldmine POP Tour), directed by Playhouse Associate Artistic Director Jaime Castañeda (At the Old Place, Tiger Style!, Guards at the Taj), running August 21 - September 16 in the Playhouse's Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

Music Theatre Wichita continues its 2018 Season with one of the first regional productions of the newly revised Pippin, reflecting the changes composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz and librettist Roger O. Hirson introduced in the 2013 Broadway revival. Directed and choreographed by Emmy-nominated Al Blackstone ("So You Think You Can Dance"), the lavish production features a 32-member cast in an all-new staging. The fourth of five self-produced musicals in MTWichita's 2018 season, the run continues through July 29. Disney's The Little Mermaid will conclude the season August 8-18.

With its first Executive Director taking the reins at the same time Levitt at the Falls is on the verge of its first free outdoor concert, the mission its founders had in mind years ago is truly coming to life on Friday, August 3. "We've been telling Sioux Falls that our mission is to build community through music and our first free concert on August 3 puts that mission into action," says Board President Jennifer Kirby. "Regardless what language people speak, what social status they have or what age they are, when you experience the chemistry of live music with others, you're connected," added Kirby.
