Atlantic Theater Company announces a one week extension of the world premiere production of The Secret Life of Bees.

The Broadway League has just announced that the 11th annual Jimmy Awards® ceremony will be streamed live in its entirety. Fans can watch the ceremony on The Jimmy Awards Facebook and YouTube pages on Monday, June 24th at 7:30PM ET. More details including links to the live events will be posted to JimmyAwards.com/Live prior to the event. The Jimmy Awards will take place at the Minskoff Theatre, 200 West 45th Street in Manhattan, and will be hosted by Tony Award Winner® Ben Platt.

One of the biggest hits in theatrical history, CATS will come to Detroit from September 3-15, 2019 as part of a multi-season North American tour. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Sunday, June 9, 2019.

Broadway In Chicago has announced the acclaimed national touring production of the 2017 Best Musical Tony Award-winner Dear Evan Hansen will now play its limited 12-week engagement, July 7 September 27, 2020, at Broadway In Chicago's CIBC Theatre (18 W. Monroe). Patrons who have purchased tickets at the James M. Nederlander Theatre will be moved to comparable seats at the CIBC Theatre, and new tickets will be provided by the end of June.

The Third Annual St. Louis High School Musical Theatre Awards winners were announced Sunday, June 2 at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. The ceremony was hosted by KTVI Fox 2's Mandy Murphey and directed by Tony Parise. The winners were named in 14 categories (plus WOW! Performance Awards and Special Recognition Awards) including the Outstanding Lead Actress and the Outstanding Lead Actor who will go on to compete in the Jimmy Awards/National High School Musical Theatre Awards on Monday, June 24 at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City, presented by The Broadway League Foundation.

Overture Center for the Arts announced today that two Jerry Award 'Outstanding Leading Performance' recipients performed and were selected to advance to The Jimmy Awards, also known as the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (NHSMTA), held in New York City. Two local students are on their way to New York City next month to compete in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards - also known as the Jimmy Awards - representing Palm Beach County. The students will also experience a weeklong musical theater intensive with Broadway artists, thanks to being selected the top student performers at the second annual Kravis Center Dream Awards.

The New York Philharmonic announces Fun at the Phil: Sleepover at the Museum, its first-ever family benefit for children, March 7, 2020. The event will honor Board Member Karen LeFrak for her dedication to the Philharmonic; proceeds will go toward Philharmonic education programs. The concert will feature a new multimedia orchestral work by Karen LeFrak based on her children's book, Sleepover at the Museum, with illustrations by David Bucs, as well as Saint-Saens's The Carnival of the Animals.

The Rochester Broadway Theatre League (RBTL) is pleased to announce that it will join other professional theater organizations from across the country participating in the eleventh annual presentation of "The Jimmy Awards", to be held in New York City on June 24th at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA), founded and produced by Nederlander Presentations, Inc. and Pittsburgh CLO, is a national celebration of outstanding student achievement that recognizes individual artistry in vocal, dance and acting performances by high school students. Four Chords and a Gun is an intense black comedy about the infamous punk band the Ramones written by John Ross Bowie (“The Big Bang Theory”, “Speechless”). The play reveals the drama-filled 1979 recording session that led to The Ramones album, End of the Century, produced by the eccentric gun wielding Phil Spector. The Canadian premier of this sometimes funny, sometimes wrenching, always gritty, story of how the world's greatest Punk album came to be is directed by long-time Toronto Star theatre critic and Stratford Festival director Richard Ouzounian. Hey Ho Let's Go! to a play about the Ramones followed by a concert. Not a f***ing musical.
