Today's subject Mary Gordon Murray is currently living her theatre life onstage at The Kennedy Center's Eisenhower Theater playing Fräulein Schneider in the national tour of Cabaret. The production plays through August 6th.

Today's subjects, Sherri Edelen and Thomas Adrian Simpson, are currently living their theatre lives in tech for Jesus Christ Superstar at Signature Theatre. Thomas is playing the high priest Caiaphas and Sheri, in a brilliant turn of non-traditional casting, will be playing King Herod. The production runs from May 9th to July 2nd.

The Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) will host a Shepherdstown Sneak Peek onFriday, March 24th at 8pm at the Frank Center of Shepherd University. The season preview will consist of readings from all six of CATF's 2017 plays. Founder and Producing Director Ed Herendeen will introduce and discuss the upcoming season. Theater J, the nation's pre-eminent professional Jewish theater, announces its 2017-2018 season, comprised of six diverse plays, including one world premiere and two regional premieres.  Artistic Director Adam Immerwahr has selected works by Jonathan Safran Foer, Alfred Uhry, Nilo Cruz, Mark St. Germain, Karen Hartman and Lindsay Joelle, as well as a stellar line-up of directors and actors.

The material speaks for itself and gives the cast - and especially Nova Y. Payton - a chance to stretch their limits.

With a 75 minute runtime, the show never becomes cloyingly sweet or as indigestible as a fruit cake, as happens with too many holiday specials. The musical has all the makings of a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie, with just a touch of tongue-and-cheek humor to give it a little zing.

Another Way Home, directed by Shirley Serotsky, follows the Nadelman parents (Rick Foucheux and Naomi Jacobson) at summer camp visiting day which quickly turns into a family emergency. Their son Joey (Chris Stinson), is nowhere to be found and they are left wondering - where has he gone, why is their marriage lacking, and what might have happened if they had taken a different path.
