La Jolla Playhouse has announced full programming for the 2026 WOW Festival of immersive, interactive and site-inspired work, presented in partnership with UC San Diego. The WOW Festival will take place April 23 – 26 on the UC San Diego campus.

Kim Deal has shared “Coast,” her new solo single and first single for 4AD under her own name. The was recorded by Steve Albini at his Electrical Audio studio in Chicago. Lindsay Glover and Breeders alum Mando Lopez are the song’s rhythm section, Kim’s sister Kelley plays guitar and horns are by Chicago marching band Mucca Pazza. Listen to it now!

Marcus Performing Arts Center (MPAC) and Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 announce five nights of free live music as part of Rainbow Summer: HIGHLIGHT featuring Evanescent, taking place July 18-22. Old Forester's Paristown Hall, Louisville's newest state-of-the-art standing room venue, has announced a roster of performances for its opening in late July. These acts include iconic New York rock band Interpol, Memphis country-punk rockers Lucero and singer-songwriter sensation Gavin DeGraw.  The Opening Night event on July 23 will be headlined by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, along with a slate of performers including the dance troupe Pilobolus, Mucca Pazza and local favorite Ben Sollee. 

One of the most diverse classical musical organizations in the nation, Chicago Sinfonietta, is closing their 30th anniversary season with Praise + Punkin a smashing 'battle of the bands' against Mucca Pazza, an absurdist marching band, with special guest Apostolic Church of God Sanctuary Choir. The historic onstage rematch between Chicago Sinfonietta, the previous winner in 2015, and Mucca Pazza will be Saturday, May 12 at 8 p.m. at Wentz Concert Hall at North Central College, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville, and Monday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago.

Theater Oobleck's "Baudelaire in a Box" project, a seven-year adaptation of Charles Baudelaire's scandalous 19th-century classic "Les Fleurs du mal (The Flowers of Evil)" as an epic illustrated song cycle, culminates this summer with "Closed Casket: The Complete, Final and Absolutely Last Baudelaire in a Box." The 15-hour festival presentation of the complete cycle is timed to coincide with the 150th anniversary of Baudelaire's death. "Closed Casket" will be presented Aug. 4 to 6 at Links Hall at Constellation, 3111 N. Western Avenue in Chicago.
